BM is, as we all know, properly trained to shoot ~ as indeed am I but with different weapons.
Shooting a squirrel with an air rifle, particularly the very low powered ones that are now on sale in the UK, is a damn near impossible way to ensure an instant kill. You'd have more chance with a catapult and a pebble.

You start waving an air-rifle around in your garden in Nottingham ("Gun Capital of the UK") and you'll have armed police surrounding the place within minutes .... and they won't be after squirrels.
