Horses serve only 2 purposes. 1 - to win me money and, 2, to be eaten when in France.
The lad in front of me at the bar just said "Grassy-Arse" in a thick Barnsleyish accent when he was served. Mrs TMR2B chided me for announcing him to be an "ignorant Northern monkey" rather too loudly for her liking...

I is only a thick commoner...to me it is a Union Jack...and always will be...
and why does everyone else call it the Union Jack then...eh...eh...eh
'Union Jack' was officially acknowledged as an alternative name for the Union Flag by the Admiralty and Parliament in the early 20th century. The term 'jack' refers to the flag that is flown from the bowsprit of a ship, often denoting nationality'

Today has been spent with both me and Mrs TMR2B trying to avoid too much sun as we are both medium rare ~ well done. In addition, she dared me to do 100 press-ups last night. So I did. In two batches of 50. Needless to say, today my tit muscles hurt like buggery. To alleviate the pain, I decided Gin + Tonics would be a good idea this evening. And it has worked - the only problem is that now my legs refuse to obey any commands my brain sends them, my speech is gabbled and the left hand side of my face is entirely numb. Mrs TMR2B is in a similar - but vodka fuelled - state of shambolicness.

When MrsTMRBB and I have a holiday, inevitably the first few days are just spent totally relaxing - and that just means food, drink and lying in the sun, reading our books and enjoying the comfortable silence only true soul mates can enjoy. Yes, we could drink cocktails at home, but it's not the same. I haven't been abroad since 2008 and MrsTMRBB is still looking for a new contract, so these 8 days are purely a break for us both; me from chucking bags and doing 14 hour days, her from endless emails, interviews and research.
And it's lovely. And even better still, I hope to meet up for a drink or ten with BM and the other exiles :-)

Sooooo...as part of the recovery process, large G+Ts are required.
As the missus is somewhat tender, I have been going to the bar.
On my last trip back, I gazed up and blurted out "Hi, Neil".
"Hi,TMR" he replied.
I work with about 250 other blokes at Gatwick, but the odds of meeting one on holiday must be pretty low.
And do you know what the first thing we talked about was? Yup...how the gay Cypriot baggage handlers unload the planes...

An hour and a half to go. By god we are utilising our all-inclusive entitlement to the max...MrsTMR2B is immersed in a bucket of white wine and I have about 3 Keos lined up. Cracking!

We are having a mixed bag of weather, some very localised. Heard loadsa thudner about 14:30, but no rain. However, large amount of very big hailstones came down about a mile away. Could be an interesting flight in.

Delayed an hour apparently. However, having worked at Gatwick for long enough, I know we will land at about the scheduled time. Oh, and our bags will be off-loaded and delivered personally toute suite.
And the airport has a rooftop bar/smoking area.
Damned civilised.

It must be said that the local beers (for want of a better word) are not what my Young's filled belly is used to. Hence a certain dull ache - nothing terrible - every day. Baldy warned me as much would happen. Even the bottled Carlsberg . G&Ts seem ok. God help me, I'm turning into Nick! Except not tall. Or ginger. Or chubby. Or a mongulation. Yet.

Have to calm down now as the (sorry Miss T) Northern land whale whinges on about how she will have to get pregnant again as her eldest has just left home and she will have to pay "the bedroom tax" so will be required to ooze out another little fuckwit to keep the room.
Good luck with that, luv, I haven't seen anything remotely as unattractive since I stumbled across a decomposing Ewe on a trek round the Antrim coastline.
And the Ewe smelled better.

The poor, sweet, innocent South African waitress in the Ocean Basket was simply responding to a question from Apey about where she was from - "South Africa, have you ever been there?"
To which Apey replied "No, I'm not too keen on the blacks"
Unprepared for these words that would have you arrested in the UK, I laughed so hard that a piece of calamari came out of my nose
The next waitress then said that she was also a water sports instructor. Apey just gave me a look and that was enough for more nasal calamari.
Haven't laughed so much for years.
And the food was excellent too.

Can't take her anywhere...Apey and I were having a great discussion about how stand-up comedy had left the "take my mother-in-law...please" jokes and was now in the "outrage to provoke thought and reflection" stage. Miss T was submerged in Margarita's, farting regularly and guiding cigarettes into her nostrils as opposed to her mouth. These young'uns, huh?
