Title: Me poor bent finger
Post by: Marley's Ghost (Imbiber of Spirits) on June 22, 2012, 06:01:36 PM: cry: Busy doin' a bit of decking. Lost me balance, started to go backward, put out arm to save meself. Hand contacted decking, most of it slipped off leaving the little finger to support 14 stone!

Ouch! Bent at funny angle, now strapped and throbbin' Robin!

Due to much bleatin' in the Marsh from SWWLTTSMBO, I took meself off to the horse pickle.

Worth noting that the digit in question is still swollen and tender, and, what's more, dangles at an odd angle!

Three hours later, I am told that I have an Avulsion Fracture of the proximal joint!

So, I've been werkin' 'umping groceries for people for weeks with a broken mitt!

Now told "No manual handling, keep it 'buddy strapped' for 6 weeks - if it doesn't improve, get GP to refer you to the 'Hand Clinic'"

Oh, and another thing: took me BP. Machine went ballistic! Lights flashing, beepers beeping, the werks!

Told: "You might like to ask your GP about your BP"
