At a guess, very few of you - and even less could explain it!
Which is what makes this (http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/nstv/2011/09/one-minute-physics-is-schrodingers-cat-dead-or-alive.html) so interesting!

Are you suggesting that there are people who don't understand quantum mechanics?
-
Well Growler doesn't, cos it's digital, innit?

Are you suggesting that there are people who don't understand quantum mechanics?
Are they the blokes who fix dish-washers?

Personally I've always argued that the cat collapses the wave function so he never is alive and dead simultaneously. whistle:

So you're postulating another version of the cat with buttered toast strapped to its back then?
A kind of quantum spinning cat perpetual motion machine.

No.
The argument goes that the decay of a particular atom is unpredictable. So there is a probability wave that requires observation to make it collapse to a definite state. I merely say that the cat is the observer.

Unlike Nick who is brain-dead and alive simultaneously.... Thumbs:

Well known that cats don't like water, so, they'd avoid waves like the plague (with or without surfboards)
Wow! Surfing quantum spinning toasted cats!

In a box too small to swing them.
