Invited the folks round for paella and instead of paprika I accidentally put hot smoked paprika. I love hot food but couldn't eat this. Bless them they sweated through the agony and ate the lot so as not to hurt my feelings. I couldn't feel my tongue for days.

Oh and thanx for the thread btw.  evil:

At my SiL's house all the condiments (salt, pepper, horse radish, mint sauce, mustard, apple sauce, etc.) are served with every meal and all are liberally spread over the food whatever is served....  noooo:

I love mint sauce on my veg regardless of the meat, and tonight I had cranberry sauce with my toad in the hole.  redface:

MiL cooks all meat to the point of cremation ..... fortunately she always serves it with the recognised "right" sauces so we can tell that she has served beef because there will only be mustard and horseradish on offer. Lamb is identifiable as it comes with mint sauce, pork will only see apple sauce on the table. It comes to something when you take a mouthful and can only mutter "Nice piece of beef" because you have previously scanned the table to check what accompaniments are available. AND don't get me started on her over boiled vegetables.  sick2:
