Title: Mr Nick goes into battle
Post by: Nick on March 18, 2013, 09:02:59 AM
Last week I visited the E ON website to look at their boiler installation service. I filled in the online form. The last question was "Do you want a payment plan" YES/NO

I ticked YES.

Gary e mails me and says, "WE don't offer a payment plan."  rubschin:

I pursue this, or try to, with Customer Services, but they close at 3.30  Banghead

I call the office of the Chief Exec where I talk to Tina and explain my bafflement.

She called back earlier. They don't offer a payment plan. The question is only there to weed out people who cannot stump up £2K instantly since they are viewed as timewasters. I am furious  cussing: cussing: cussing: cussing: cussing: cussing: cussing:

Right, 9.00 and the Office of the Ombudsman is open  eveilgrin:

Mr Nick is going into Battle (http://www.battle-sussex.co.uk/).   That's where my bank is, couldn't pay these cheques in for me while you're there could you please Nick?  Oh and a copy of the Times from Dillons too please

Have I mistook?

Well not as badly as Nick has his chances of winning this one

Well, Trading Standards are on the case and see it as a clear case of misrepresentation. I have also had a shouty phone call with a Director of E ON who appeared to be an idiot  cussing:  ( He called me)

In fairness when I have used their services in the past, both have been quite effective.

They just need a bit of a push in the right direction, then they get simliarrr to elf n safety in their approach.... which as we know is not good when the jobsworth digs his/her heels in and wants to make a departmental name of themselves.

Good luck Ginge.

Good morning Mr Nick

I’m sorry for the delay in responding to your email .

As I’m sure you will appreciate Dr Cocker is not based within any particular office within the UK and concerns raised about the service we provide are dealt by our office on his behalf.

Dr Cocker is made aware of the complaints received into our office.

We value all feedback whether it is good or bad as this helps us to improve our service going forward, so I appreciate you taking the time to bring your own experience to our attention.

The resolution you desire isn’t something we can accommodate as EON would require a credit licence and be regulated to offer finance.

I’m sorry if you found the survey form misleading and from the feed back you’ve provided, the question “ do you require a payment plan” has been removed from our website survey.

Terms of payment are only provided on acceptance of a written quotation and as we’ve not provided you with either a site survey or quoted you for any work to be undertaken we have not reached the stage where terms would be discussed and have not breached any legal obligation.

I don’t want to come across as unkind or uncaring but we really have said all we can about this and consider the matter closed.

I appreciate this isn’t the response you were looking for and if you feel that you need to take the matter further then this is what you must do.

Kind Regard

Look on the bright side.  It's not every man who one day can look back on his life with his grand kids and say that one day he got EON to change a sentence on their web site
