Title: Snoopy meets Nick and The Boy
Post by: Nick on August 16, 2007, 01:22:05 PM
What with the demise of Wenchy, the disappearance of The Cats and so on, I fear to advise you that we have an assignation (He only wants the whisky). If Growler comes the board will die completely, especially if Landlady keeps smiting Barman noooo: noooo:

Farewell pubbers

Worryingly, despite the lack of the promised "We are on our way" phone call, Nick has gone very quiet.
He has, as it were, slipped off the radar screen.  scared2:
Mrs Snoopy, to whom this visit was not revealed until this morning, has finished the high speed spit and polish routine and is now hiding the silver.

The visit has just ended.
Actually very nice to meet Nick and The Boy and all the kids played happily together. Unfortunately it got a bit boisterous at the end and my 9yo is on his way to hospital.
Too much larking about by all of them in a bedroom, cleared for redecoration, resulted in a sliding wardrobe door being pulled from its runners and landed on my 9yo's toes. He was, of course barefoot at the time ::)
Looks like he will lose a couple of toenails and lots of blood everywhere but I doubt that he will need stitches.
No this is not a wind-up I promise.  noooo:

We are setting off soon!

I wouldn't come back if I was you. noooo:
The PIKEYS have arrived.....complete with at least one one eyed snarling dog..... in town a week early, and have already caused chaos on the main road, with ques going back to the top Chester road, trying to manouvere their 500ft long scruffy wagons and trailers through a 10' wide entrance. evil:
Talk about panic stations at 'The Swamp' shifting my gear. eeek:
Even the old railway sleepers have now been hidden. ::)

Good job I was literally 'just passing', as tomorrow may have been too late.
Panic phone call to paintball Paul, and he's on his way to shift and secure his gear, with the help of a baseball bat for some reason. confused:
He apparently had some of his stuff nicked last time this mob were in town.

Nicktown is shortly due to become more chaotic than usual I suspect.

This has all the makings of a memorable weekend  eeek:

Note to self:
1. Do not travel North to visit aged aunt only a few miles from Chester

2. Resist invitations to go 'camping' at the V festival

3. Decline invitation from B-in-Law to help with harvest as DS will be blocking A4 and probably A3 with his combine

4. Stay at home and paint the second bedroom yourself since decorators can't be arsed to turn up

5. Search YouTube for more Jazz clips; they'll entertain you and annoy the others  lol:

Up-date from Mrs Snoopy at A & E.
X-Rays have revealed that Snoopy Jnr has three broken toes ~ nail beds are damaged on two toes and the nails will be lost.
Dressings are about to be applied and tetanus jabs administered and he will then be coming home.

He will not be taking part in the planned mini-rugby sessions this coming week, nor will he be playing football for a couple of months. He is not a very happy puppy.

Christ!! I fear The Boy was implicated somehow, but no consistent explanation is forthcoming. I spect 4 small boys in a room is bound to generate disaster.

I must also apologise for the Rocket. I had not realised it had to be connected to the mains water supply. I am sure the flooding will subside soon, but wetsuits may be required for its next launch. The Boy has steam dried in the car on the way home. Glad I didn't wear my watch!!

What do they do to his toes? Splints? PLaster?

That door must be heavy!

Regretably it is all true. But Mrs Snoopy was very kind about it all.

I like that rocket though. We have left it there and Mrs Nick is out buying another

Very sorry to hear about the young pup, hope he recovers soon.  eeek:

It was very brave of you, I have met with Nick on 2 separate occasions with just one brief scare and no lasting effects, but both Nick and the Boy together are another story.

I hope this does not put you off visitors, as I was planning a trip in your area in the next month or so and was going to ask to be allowed a quick visit.  scared2:

It is a navigational aid. Snoopy told me a remarkable tale about the co-ordinated efforts of 2 Egyptian brothers to kill him - one with a knife and one with a hamburger. This tale also involved a fire engine. He did not connect these incidents to his military service in the Middle East for some reason. Entertaining nevertheless.

I 'spect everyone looks short to Nick 'cos he is pretty tall. I am about 5'10" to 5'11" (used to be six foot but this back problem is shrinking me according to the Doc) and Nick is certainly a couple of inches taller than me.
Meanwhile thanks for the kind thoughts. My Boy is feeling bruised this morning but is being thoroughly spoiled and making his big sister run around fetching him drinks and stuff.
Yes Pussy you will be more than welcome. The Chapel on the High Street is the guide as Nick says, we live opposite it.
The water rocket that Nick brought along with him is a fantastic device that had my boys asked for it I would have said an immediate NO to but now that they have it I must admit it is good fun.
Anyway Mrs Snoopy is out (Judging an arts and crafts section at the village show in the next village) so I cannot spend too long here today. Injured boys to look after, wardrobes to mend etc. ::)
Mrs S says Nick is great fun, the BOY is a delight and that I must ask them round again so .......... they can't be that bad ~ can they???? rubschin:

We took another of those rockets to a birthday party yesterday as a present. I hear the parents feared for their windows, car, neighbours, lives etc.

If Mrs Nick had seen it working she could have explained that it merely causes seriuos flooding noooo:

T'Lad has adopted a walking stick (extra short) which we found when we moved into the house and left in the hall "just in case" (as you do) and is getting about quite well now. He finds it particularly useful for persuading his big sister to run errands, fetch him comics, drinks etc.  whip: whip:

Don't worry about it. Now he is over the shock and the pain is controlled he is milking it for all it is worth.
He is almost looking forward to going back to school so that he can present an excused swimming lessons note to the Head who is keen that they all have to go swimming every week and t'lad hates it.
