HomePlugs like... Thumbs:

There's two types using two different encodings. Homeplugs are very good but I've got the Powerline ones as BT used to give them away for free and they had a mains socket the other side so didn't lose a mains socket.
200Mbps!

They don't like consumer units tho.... noooo:
In the UK you only have one - in Cyprus we can have two or three...

No there must be an inductive blocker in the consumer unit. Still that helps to stop the neighbours nicking my meagre internet bandwidth and dumping dodgy video's on my PCs
And the sad thing is Growler probably thinks we are winding him up

Click the Amazon link at the bottom of the page
Search for Ethernet Mains
Loads of options will appear
Then google for Powerline or Homeplug to get explanations
But in brief instead of using wireless (which doesn't go through houses very well) these little gems send a similar (but faster signal) onto your mains wiring and it appears at every mains socket in your house. Plug another adaptor in there and hey presto you have full ethernet data connection between the two. Plug one end into yur fiber optic modem and your remote computer into the other one
You do have to do a bit of malarkey to get the adaptors to recognise each other, takes seconds

No I don't, I'm just inquisitive, that's all. evil:
I'm all for benefits, which is why I joined Vergin.

All sounds very very conflusterlicating for a mere Bear to understand tbqh.
What's wrong with the nice new shiny flashy light box thingy under me desk like? Shrugs:

If you've only got one puter and no smart TVs etc then fine
But what if the kids want to connect to interweb in their rooms?

They use their laptops and it all goes through this wireless under me desk I presume. Shrugs:
WTF's a 'Smart TV' btw? confused:
One that eradicates shite like Corry, Crap Factor, and Prancing on Ice and such other crap p'raps? cloud9:

You're OK then
There's an RSJ or 2 in our house and wireless just won't get to all parts
A smart TV connects to the interweb and lets you browse porn youtube etc direct on the TV
Our TV is decidely not a smart one but it's a decent screen and it refuses to keel over

Got Yuseless Tube on Virgin now.
Haven't got the foggiest how you activate it mind. Shrugs:
