Title: Next doors trees
Post by: GROWLER on June 01, 2013, 01:10:27 PM
Nice couple (so i thought)  that moved in late last year have taken it upon themselves to 'rape' the garden of virtually all of its bushes and trees. eeek: eeek: sad32:
MM is going absolutely ballistic, and I'm not far behind.
Everywhere looks so cold and bare now.
All we can see is bricks and mortar, and to top it all, they've now decided to extended their back garden into the front one, and erected  a massive 6' high set of fence panels all around it.
Not even sure it's legal tbh.

Looks like friggin' Colditz without the barbed wire now. Angry9:

I'm now having to avoid them to prevent WW3 breaking out, such is my disgust at what they've done.
I will NOT be able to hold back next time I have to face them.

Sounds legal

even if there is a tree preservation order (rare) then (from our experience) the chances of getting anyone to enforce it are : fuck all

Shame:  trees is good

No, the fence, not the trees.

I have a suspicion that erecting a 6' high fence around your FRONT garden adjacent to the walkway and road is illegal.
It looks absolutely horrendous, and has also created a hazard backing the cars out of the drive now too, as we are on a corner that we could previously see around.
Not any more we can't. noooo:

You are right

See here (http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/permission/commonprojects/fenceswallsgates)

Quote
You will need to apply for planning permission if you wish to erect or add to a fence, wall or gate and:

it would be over 1 metre high and next to a highway used by vehicles (or the footpath of such a highway); or over 2 metres high elsewhere;
or
your right to put up or alter fences, walls and gates is removed by an article 4 direction or a planning condition; or
your house is a listed building or in the curtilage of a listed building.
the fence, wall or gate, or any other boundary involved, forms a boundary with a neighbouring listed building or its curtilage.

Get the bastards, hanging is too good for them

And damage my car?  noooo:

Thinking more along the lines of hiring YOU to set it on fire tbh. lol:

I'm so saddened by all this, as they seemed such a pleasant friendly couple too.
They've completely destroyed the whole character of the outside now....and it's continuing as I type. sad32:

Why do we bother Nick?   We'd already given him chapter and verse of what he has to walk round and quote to these neighbours and does he read it?  No

We had the opposite problem about 26yrs ago we lived in a semi and the neighbours put conifers in totally surrounding their house which grew to about 18ft and grew over our lawn by about 5ft killing all the edge. Blocked the light out our lounge and front bedroom...
We were moving so weren't bothered...

The guy who bought our house a week after they moved in got a chainsaw and cut back everything that was on his land including half the trunks .... The bloke next door had planted them right on the edge of the boundary...

He killed the lot... we laughed a lot cause the neighbour was a tosser... One boxing day he was knocking out his windows at 7:30...DIY freek.

No you show Mrs G so she knows she's in the right when She goes round and tells them.

It's a psychological thing that people are far more likely to back down to women who appear to know their stuff.

Where I lived in the UK the local council were shite hot on tree preservation orders. I seem to remember up to 20 grand per tree fine.  eeek:

You clearly don't want to listen to advice here. I suggest Yahoo Answers.
