From what I can gather from these utter utter twats and thieving moraless bastards, they're especially and exclusively designed for the vunerable and those that REALLY can't afford such disgusting shite. Angry9:
Just how do they get away with it? Shrugs:

It seems to me that the word vulnerable, especially when used by politicians, really means those who are hard of thinking.
If you can't afford to borrow the money then don't ~ simples.

Quite right Uncle... Thumbs:
I can't help but think that the hard of thinking wouldn't be so quite hard of thinking if the gubberment didn't try to do all their thinking for them from cradle to grave....

So shouldn't 'we' in fact act a tad more responsibly by trying to really help these poor sods (regardless of how they got there) rather than get them into deeper shit?
Absolutely baffles me beyond belief it does. Shrugs:

Did they turn you down like?
All I can say is "cut one's coat according to one's cloth"

If the adverts show the true terms and conditions it is only their stupidity that is to blame...
If you involved the gubberment and got them banned they would only go 'underground' and possibly be run by much more shady characters than they are currently...

Thanks for that. ::)
Stunningly hilarious...as ever. ::)

It happens every day.
A bloke runs out of munny in the pub and asks his mate to buy him one more beer.
"I will give you the munny tommora like". (Not Apey noooo: .... he just takes another beer. ::) )
Next day "Here is the munny for the beer you bought me yesterday, Oh I will buy you a pint for sorting me out Thumbs:"
Work out the APR on that transaction.... less than 24 hours and paying double. noooo:
Steve will be able to come up with the figures. Thumbs:

That'd be an APR of 5% by volume
Oh and what BM and Uncle said ^ seconded.

Sorry. Can't /won't agree with any of you.
All this crap about, uh well, "it'll just go underground then, doh" ::)
It's already there ffs! Banghead
I'm just talking about firstly eradicating all these legalised sharks, and once that's done, there'll be more time and resources to sweep the rest of the thieving bastards into the sea too.

But that is like banning fags and expecting everybody to stop smoking...
... or banning booze and expecting everybody to stop drinking.... not that they would ever try that.... noooo:

Bit different that BM.
Those two items are a choice, pay day loans are quite often taken out due to pure ignorance.

It is exactly the same!
Are you suggesting that banning 'pay day loans' would in some way educate the ignorant...?
If you removed all temptation they would somehow manage to balance their budget...?
Prohibitionists believed that if they banned booze everybody would simply start drinking lemonade (or ginger beer)... We know how that turned out - the rise of organised crime and thousands killed....

Probably not, no, but the whole industry should be taken over and properly regulated with full interviews (not this 'decision and money in your bank within 5 minutes" crap) with proper and reasonable intrest rates, not this apr of 2000% and such. eeek:
It's an absolute shambles.
It's currently just a free for all to prey on the ...not even just the ignorant, but the desperate too...eeek:

So you think everything within the industry is just fine and dandy then I assume? rubschin:

So you think everything within the industry is just fine and dandy then I assume? rubschin:
No...
I think people that rely on pay day loans at vast interest rates won't change their habits if you choose to make them illegal...
You will just push them underground and into the hands of people that can't afford flashy TV adverts because their business is backed up with baseball bats or worse...
These are people that are either terminally stupid or that have (for whatever reason) such a bad credit rating that they cannot go elsewhere...
Unless you are suggesting that the hard-working bus driver tax payer provides a credit line to people that (obviously own a TV but) can't pay their bills then I would suggest that the already regulated system is the best way forward...
-
So you think everything within the industry is just fine and dandy then I assume? rubschin:
No Growler but a fool and his money are soon parted no matter what you or I try to do to stop it.
Worse the more we make rules to cover this and that niche situation the more fools will believe everything is covered and they never have to take care leading to worserer and diverserer losses and even more calls for expensive legislation to fix another 0.1% of what goes wrong in life
(oh and wot BM just posted)

Why do people need loans anyway? rubschin:
***Quickly checks thread is not in The Commons***

To claim a PPI rebate of course

Not really 100% sure what the relevance of that was tbqh. rubschin:

Anyway. crazy this. confused:
I only started this thread to rant about payday loan companies, their poxy adverts and disgustingly obscene apr's, not the whole other and massive issue of those that can't afford it type debate. Banghead
