Been working on a Windows 8 laptop all day - virus infection....

I'm sure you would get used to it in the end but at first glance Windows 8 is utter shyte....  noooo:

The biggest problem with Windows 8 is that the Metro interface is geared towards touchscreen devices and the Xbox but Microsoft's deals with the manufacturers mean that it also gets bundled with regular machines where it falls flat. The obvious solution would be to build an update that allows the user to choose between Metro and traditional as the default interface 8.1 is supposed to do that but I've heard mixed reviews about it.

A friend gave me a spare serial key for Windows 8 Pro as I was getting sick of jury rigging drivers for my laptop when it wasn't meant to run XP. So installed it, the updates and 8.1 yesterday/early hours of this morning and so far it seems ok.  rubschin:
