I do love the idea that you are supposed to be able to do this under a local anaesthetic. Sure, right up to the point that the victim patient realises that either the pipe is so thick because of the insulation that there is no way it will fit normally or that there is no insulation and they are going to feel the heat all the way along... noooo:
