Just watched Field of Dreams (1989) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_Dreams) again. Superb stuff

Watched 2010 earlier, it's a shame they never got around to making the last 2 in the series.

Day the Earth Stood Still - the Keanu Reeves remake
Critics hated it because it was a remake of the 1950's utter brilliance. But in its own right it's still a good fillum with interesting themes

The biggest problem that the film had other than comparisons to the original was that because it was another science fiction film Keanu was automatically compared to his Neo role from the matrix trilogy. On it's own merit it's a decent remake.
Given the hype with his role in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2020 game there has been a lot of speculation about a film adaptation coming as well, something that has a hell of a lot of potential.

The best bit in that film is when Kathy Bates and Reeves meet
Bates: "tell me why have you come to our planet."
Reeves: "*Your* planet?"
