Because it's easier to hammer Branson as opposed to laying into say Disney for doing something similar. Branson at least offered to sell Necker Island to help fund things.

He's in a pickle, to be sure.

But there are plenty of others whose business conduct is far worse that haven't been attacked with such voracity. Corporate accountants are the real villians, not the flag waver.
