Title: Oh Woe is me
Post by: Uncle Mort on July 30, 2020, 11:56:37 AM
Been a bad couple of mouths healthwise which is why I've not been posting recently.

Currently sitting in a ward at Harlow and just finished the chat with the Doc.

Couple of months ago started having bouts of vertigo and nausea resulting in a couple of visits to A&E, a bit of a weight loss and drop in quality of life. Gets worse ending in an infection, a fall and a rush to hospital; that was a couple of weeks ago. Spent the first week away with the fairies who wouldn't tell me who I was. Finally I crept back to the land of the living and now 'on the mend'; I've now a busted clavicle, look like 'Starvin' Marvin'', have a possible blood clot in my right leg. have referrals left right and central and some changes to be planned depending on final outcome.

Should be back at home by now.Yesterday I was all paced, meds sorted and ready and waiting. the fact that they then moved me to different ward should have been a warning.

Saw a new consultant doctor this morning,he ordered further bloods and more scans. (this was 6 hours ago and nothing has happened) He's after the root cause of my problem, something I thought was to be done via outpatients.

So, everything is open-ended. Who knows when or if I'll be my old self again.

At last!  Discharge ordered, how long that takes to happen depends on the local council getting a care package arranged. Doctors here have arranged one last CT scan so I'm not hopeful it'll be today or over the coming weekend. Still fingers crossed.

The trouble with getting old is that once the doctors get hold of you they find lots of other problems which they tell me they are obliged to investigate. That's what has been happening the past week and as an outpatient going forward. the vertigo and nausea that put me here has not returned, so am I "cured"?  I can see this happening again  noooo:

It's like taking your car in for an engine problem, they insist on looking at the tyres etc and even worse if you get an electrician in

Hope you get your scan and release today

Don't mention cars  noooo:

The Brat took her car into the garage on Monday to get a small dent and scratches fixed  ::)

She was told 3 day job . Tried ringing them yesterday and left message no response. She has been down there this morning and they have said they have sent it to their 'bodywork ' garage a bit further away. They are trying to get hold of someone there but he is not answering  noooo:

She had a stand up row in the office with them saying that she shouldn't be having to chase her care, they should be communicating with her and letting her know of delays etc , they are not doing her any favours she is paying for a service etc and if they can't update her on her car she will report it stolen and it was left in their car and they cannot account for it etc  scared2: Strangely enough they have just said the car will be ready today and they will phone her 'later' .

She is planning on returning at 5pm and staging a sit in if its not  scared2:

I told her to check the brake lines if she gets it back today  lol:

Enjoy your full MOT and Service Unc  lol:

I fear I'll always fail my MOT. I'm inclined to carry on regardless until the wheels fall off.

As to small scratches and dents I found a company that do such repairs on your drveway. Bish, Bosh all done in half an hour
