Title: The Flu Jab: Yes or no?
Post by: Nick on September 14, 2020, 07:07:59 AM
Never had a flu jab and for the last three years I have been told that I can't (cancer treatment). Now I can and my GP surgery and pharmacy keep calling to urge me to get one.  rubschin:

Side effects can include "four days of flu symptoms", so that would be the flu then  rubschin:

What does the VP think? Yes or no?

I would be inclined to get the jab if it involves little or no effort on your part.A flu jab will protect you from getting a particular variant but wouldn't alleviate symptoms caused by a course of treatment.

Had it last 4 years, never had any real after effects.  Already booked to have the jab in 2 weeks time

The thought of getting flu and Covid and being over 60 all at the same time is just too awful to contemplate

Computer says NO!

According to the computer I am not old enough to have a flu jab!
My address doesn't exist either  ::)

In the end, the pharmacist said "Fuck this, I will just give you the jab anyway. Your arm may get a bit stiff later."

I said, "I am left handed so do it in my right arm."

He said, "Which one is that?" eeek: scared2:

You young whipper snapper you.

Think you have to be 65 to get them free, I paid for 2 years.  They're supposed to give you a once in a lifetime pneumonia jab at same time but the NHS has apparently run out  ::)

September 26th is flu vaccination day for the village here.  I've been asked to help marshall the masses and unwisely said yes.  What could possibly  . . . .  . .

If the flu jab gives you flu-like symptoms (which in my experience it doesn't), do you then have to isolate for 14 days in case the symptoms didn't come from the jab? rubschin:
