You couldn't make it up! cussing:
After uge delays caused by the buyer, our house sale was due to complete this week...
I've been massively busy sorting everything out, tax completion, cleaners, moving out our tenant's final bits, donations to charity shops, etc.
So on Friday our solicitors are due at The Land Registry to effectively swap a big bag of cash for the title deeds and keys...
However...
Last week The Land registry suffered a ransomware attack on its computers... They are still down...
Each day the 'puters are down delays completion by a day... Banghead

Yargh: doesn't quite cover it.
I have tendency to quickly lose it whenever anything goes wrong (it's a family trait)

lol: lol: lol:
I'm still hoping that (due to a bizarre freak of laziness on the part of the buyer's lawyer) we should have his money in our client account and hold the title deeds by the end of the week...
So the tears will be his but we won't get the cash until The Land Registry sorts its shit out... scared2:

Shocked:
Hopefully you had no part in designing their IT system.
What a fuck up but seems organisations the world over are naive about the need to protect data no matter how much it annoys their employees.

Puters still down... Talking about reinstating in sections now, I'm guessing another week at least before they are back to 'normal'...

Quite a day...
Met the buyer at the house this morning and everything was fine there - he was happy to do some form of 'cash in exchange for keys' scheme if the lawyers could work something out...
However, my (brilliant) lawyer has managed to get an appointment at The Land Registry on Monday to do a proper transfer! cloud9:

Well, it was certainly a roller-coaster ride yesterday!
Showed the guy around the house which was fine, got the appointment at LR which was amazing, his last funds plopped into our account mid afternoon so all was well...
...until we discovered that his lawyer hadn't told him about the transfer fees (~€25,000) which he didn't happen to have in his pocket... Banghead
So Monday is cancelled and everything put on hold unless we can agree a 'deal' that we worked on late into the night... noooo:
Added to that, I'm back in court on Monday on the burglary fiasco and the lawyer that represented me last time has left the firm so I had to start that all over again... evil:
No wonder I have a hangover this morning... ;D
