Title: Titanic key is sold for ?90,000
Post by: Barman on September 23, 2007, 09:18:33 AM
Imagine having soooo much money that you could spend ?90K on an old key. What would you do with it?

Quote from: BBC Web Site
A tiny key that might have helped prevent the Belfast-built Titanic sinking has fetched ?90,000 at auction.
The key, with the tag "Crows Nest Telephone Titanic" opened the binoculars store, but was not on the ship when it sailed from Southampton.

The latest Titanic conspiracy theory is that it hit the iceberg because somebody had taken the key and the steering lock was on.
