They are going to clean the hospitals ~ not an ordinary clean but a "Deep Clean". So what the f*ck have they been doing with the mops and buckets for the last ten years?
As an add on to this Big Idea Mr Brown intends that we, the patients, will be given a greater say in who treats us and where that treatment will be carried out.
What utter twaddle.
Let me tell you Mr Brown what you should be doing to correct the mistakes you have made.
1) Get rid of at least 75% of NHS managers ~ they are a drain on the budget and are only interested in their own careers. They do not give a sh*t for the patients who they view not as vulnerable, scared and sick people but as inconvenient "customers" who clutter up their nice surgeries and hospitals with nasty illnesses that cost money to cure.
2) Stop telling nurses how wonderful they are now that they have a "Degree" and go back to the basics according to Florence Nightingale ie Caring for the patients, ensuring that the sick are clean, comfortable and feel looked after.
3) Stop training doctors from and for third world economies and recruit only those who can speak English fully and properly ie those that have been born and educated in the UK. I am tired of trying to explain to some Asian/African/Middle European second year medical student the nuances of English as the natives here speak it.
4) Above all stop fvcking about with people's health. It is too important to us. We have paid and continue to pay heavily for the service and it has been getting worse whilst you sat there having Big Ideas. Why has it taken ten years to think of it you arse? evil:

I can?t believe that he can come out with stuff like this and believe he is credible. Banghead
Note to Brown?
?You?ve been part of the government for the last ten years you wanker! Do you honestly, truthfully expect us to believe that you have only now learnt what filthy, dirty and unhygienic places most hospitals are??

If I recall correctly, he goes private.
Bravo Snoopy.
Heard this being discussed on the lunchtime news. The medical chappy pointed out that "deep cleaning" the hospitals as one off won't help becuase the bacteria that cause the problems enter the hospital with patients and visitors. Perhaps we should all be fumigated (internally and externally) before being granted admission.
He was of the opinion that medical staff should "wash their hands".

The only people I saw make use of the alcohol based hand cleanser provided at the end of each bed throughout all my weeks in hospital last year were (1) The regular ward cleaner (2) The Senior Cardiology Consultant and (3) The Patients. I never once saw a doctor or nurse use them as they moved from patient to patient. ::)

The idea of the big clean in bleedin ridiculous as you'd have to close each hospital in order to do so or else risk cross contamination all over again. So whats the plan, evacuate the hospitals and then ro a Reston style sunbeam cookout? Banghead

They're going to be contaminated the second someone sets a foot in them so really what is the point. If basic hygine were being carried out and doctors/nurses actually used the alcohol spray then that would be a good start.
The problem is they feel they have to be seen to be doing something on a grand scale and they feel this is it. ::)

If the doctors' alchohol spray were to be administered orally, they might comply.

Plus you have to take into account that the trusts are now having to award supply contracts to the lowest bidder, not necessarily the best quality supplier. So the staff who are using the sprays may not be getting any real benefit.

I caught 5 minutes of his bullshitting speech before I turned the radio off
" better care for the elderly "
tell that to the family of one bloke I looked after for 7 years who died last week because of the stress of changing health care providers

He?s on a safe one with ?better care for the elderly? though? lets face it; it simply couldn?t get any worse.
