Title: Tate Modern
Post by: tel on October 01, 2007, 12:15:19 PM
I went to Borough Market at London Bridge last Thursday. Lotsa nice food etc. Having bought what we wanted, we decided to walk along the riverbank, going past the Golden Hind and finding ourselves outside the Tate Modern. Decided to venture in - what a mistake, some very nice attractive art students, but a large number of schoolkids who managd to make an awful lot of noise.
Some of the exhibits were ok, but I am not impressed by a wardrobe filled with concrete or an empty cardboard box that once contained Brillo pads!
Anybody else been there, comments etc?

Yes. I quite like parts of it. Some of the installations are a bit out there. Last time we went there was a section of communist propoganda posters that I found quite interesting.

Kids, yep, loads of them, all the time. I do believe Mr Wench is taking his class there. The Tate and the Modern both cater extremely well for kids. With worksheets etc all laid on for free.

Frightful.  WHo in their right mind gets off on communist propoganda posters? Eh?

No.

We had to go shopping in the Tate (= tat + e) Shop afterwards.  Why do they always do that?

Huge expense and all stuck behind clocks and forgotten now.

HELP!

An acquaintance of mine did all the lighting for the Tate Modern. He was paid fortunes. And he's a bastard too  cussing:

In these days of Broadband and such, why is there any need for a Tate modem?

point: You quite clearly don't know Mr Wench.

I need storage with cupboards. Shelves mean dusting.  redface:
