I've used them for years quite happily but all of a sudden can't access my account Banghead
Nothing's changed at my end... password doesn't work... tried changing it.... still doesn't work... Banghead
Anyone else? P'raps they're suffering under the latest postal strike shrugs:
-
rubschin: Mine worked yesterday .... same as always.
Hang on I'll go have a looksee.
-
Nope ~ sorry but mine is OK.
I should try their help desk. This happened to me about a year ago ..... they reset it all and no probs since.
-
I've sent them a fuming email via customer support. Hopefully they will sort it.
I was hoping to buy a book recommended to me by a man in a pub last night... whistle:

I am glad you found my suggestion of "Animal Husbandry for Beginners" useful. ;D

Oh he's not still flogging his book is he ~ next thing he'll be round examining your bookshelves and, because you look after books and don't crease the spines to buggery, he'll accuse you of not reading it. ::)

Nope. Not his. Unless of course he's under a pseudonym cool14:

Sounds like Nick whistle:

It's an excellent book by John Walsh. But mine is also available on Amazon at reasonable rates. whistle:

You may be the only person ever to have read it!
We were discussing this one.

rubschin: Looks a bit Nick Hornby-ish to me but I'll add it to my library list and see if they have it when I next visit them. Trouble with the library is that just about everything they stock seems to be written by/for wimmin or Sci-fi fanatics .... some are both, of course.
-
Amazon have replied courteously - I'll sort it tomorrow by phone; I'm not even going to try doing it online ::)
I use 2 libraries locally but there are sections I tend to avoid. Yesteday's sandwich drama was at the nearest which was holding an open day for the Archives. Curiously the actual archive section was closed confused:
Special local historical interest groups promoting their activities mostly.
There's a Victorian Society somewhere round here too. They make appearances sometimes dressed up as, errr... Victorians rubschin:

Yeeeeessssssssss ~ I know some re-enactors myself ~ Strange people (https://www.virtual-pub.com/SMF/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freesmileys.org%2Femo%2Ftaunt012.gif&hash=b61af53b6bda03bcc492277d878466490701b282)

That is a particularly loopy emoticon ... sums them up quite well ;)
A couple of years ago, in't local park, there was a fête; I bumped into Queen Victoria eeek:
A disturbing likeness too.

Frightening shocked003

We were not amused ;)
If I meet her, or indeed them, again I'll engage them in conversation. See if they play the part as well.
I once did an historical walk through Winchester and had conversations with Alfred The Great about cakes and Jane Austen about her latest novel. Very bizarre.
-
Now Winchester is a place I have always loved ~ but I would avoid meeting King Alfred etc.
-
The King Alfred on that summer's evening bore an alarming resemblance to Berek's usual avatar. Best to avoid.
-
I confess the last time I was in Winchester I was horrified at the changes wrought in the name of "Progress".
Like so many other haunts of bygone days I doubt that I shall return. "Going back" is not something I do much of anymore. Too many disappointments.
