Will there be coffins on the stage?

You youngsters know nothing about Rock Gods ~ only about what followed them.
You want to talk Rock Gods then you need to get back to Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis. These are the people that ALL the others have copied and freely admit to being influenced by.

All well and good but tell me who Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis et al copied and were influenced by?
-
The main influences were Country and Western (or American Folk Music), Rythm n Blues (Black man's music imported from Africa by slaves) and Gospel (Slave music) all mixed up with traditional folk music from Europe.
Putting these together produced what we know as Rock and Roll, a term first used by DY Alan Freed in 1951. The first and best proponents of this "new style" were as named in my previous. Many have imitated but none has bettered them. Without these people what followed could not have happened. No lesser authority that John Lennon acknowledged that.
