The police officer who led the inquiry into cash-for-honours allegations against political parties is to be questioned by MPs later.
Assistant Commissioner John Yates is likely to be asked why a 16-month inquiry did not result in any charges.

Nobody has been found guilty (nor were they ever likely to be given who was involved) so why drag it all up and waste thousands upon thousands of Pounds over it? Banghead

Well the answer to that question is simple "Because you, the law makers, removed from us, the law enforcers, the right to prosecute and took that power into your own hands" ~ There! .... I could have saved them millions. whistle:

I heard mentioned on the news this morning that they were also going to look into the degree of cooperation between MP's and the police during the investigation. Including a rumour that Bliar threatened to resign if questioned by the fuzz.
