Post by: Sour Puss on October 28, 2007, 01:27:57 AM
eeek: at 02h00 all the clocks in the house went...Wheeeee! and reset themselves to 01h00...Guess that means it is bed time ...again... whistle:

Absolutely totally hate and despise this constant annual tinkering about with the clocks and the consequential dark and miserable evenings. evil:
I shall do as i did last year, and leave my watch on BST and adjust my daily routine accordingly.

What happened to that good idea that was being mooted around earlier this year, regarding leaving the clocks on BST, and then moving them forward another hour next spring?

I love a good kip. The longer the better. It keeps me out of harm's way. My bed is my refuge!

This BlackBerry thingy changed itself. This is good. I cannot, however, for the life of me, fathom out how to change the time on the cooker (and no, I'm not talking about Mrs TMR) and as an IT geek (to use Growlers words) this offends me.

Simple solution :- wait until midnight then unplug it and plus it back in. Voila.

The Young's is slipping down far to easily today. And if "that's rhythm" comes in at Aintree about now, it will only get worse...

Somehow, you and that watch seem - made for each other.

Mine is a simple atomic watch.   It's always right and glows in the dark.    eyes:

As someone who has difficulty getting out of bed in the mornings, and with more than a passing interest in the night sky, I would like to see GMT adopted all year round. After all, it is more or less the correct solar time.

I absolutely agree.  We caused an almighty fuss in getting Greenwich Mean Time adopted as the world standard and then, not only do we not use it during the summer (what bloody summer?) but are threatening to do away with it altogether.  Idiots.

GMT is marked by the sun (what sun?) reaching its zenith at midday.  That is the whole point of it.

If you find that inconvenient for what you are doing, then change the bloody hours that you do it and leave the rest of us in peace.   It takes me about a fortnight to get the hang of it either way and that makes a month of not having a clue what the hell time it is.  Not to mention recording everything at the wrong time 'cos I forgot to change the video clock.   evil:
