Goodbye Norman Mailer ~ RIP
Who? confused:
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Norman Mailer has died of renal failure aged 84, his literary executor has said.
Mailer won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize twice, for The Armies of the Night in 1968 and The Executioner's Song in 1979.

I loved him from the moment he asked Roy Plumley if he could have a supply of marijuana as his luxury on Desert Island Discs. Plumley nearly wet himself and pompously told him it was "illegal"

Mailer's works were often filled with violence, sexual obsession and views that angered feminists.
Married six times and the father of nine children, Mailer once said in an NBC television interview that he was worried "wimmin are going to take over the world".
Possibly a relation of Growler's?

Hamilton, who recently published his autobiography, maintained that he also wanted to escape media attention.
He didn’t seem that keen to escape media attention when he was launching his autobiography – wanker! evil:

Growler, I salute you.
We need more good, honest, hard-working people in this country. You are the backbone and unfortunately there are too many useless skin appendages to it, draining the marrow.
Even if you are Scouse.
(Insert saluting smiley)

That IS OK. There are too many snotty-nosed toffs our there that can't tell the difference between intelligence and education.
You need the classical education to mingle with the toffs but you don't need the intelligence because you have the golden key. Whereas, you need the intelligence in order to survive the real world without that classical education.
Learning and intelligence are two entirely different things.
