Title: New Routemaster?
Post by: Uncle Mort on December 19, 2007, 01:21:59 PM
I like the old Routemaster bus.

It was perfectly suited for it's purpose but of course modern health, safety and accessibility rules meant it had to go.

So there's not much chance of a resurrected version getting anywhere especially as it looks like it belongs on the Isle of Sodor rather than the centre of London:

Oh I do hope so. WHen I first moved to London they were still running the old RT buses *(produces violin) . It makes sense to have an open platform in London..............

I always felt like I was in an old film when I went on them.

Vote Boris for Mayor ~ he has pledged to bring them back.

I would if I could.

Not so that the Routemaster returns but just for the chaos his being mayor would produce.

Jumping off them at speed was always good fun. Seen several school mates colliding with lamp posts etc.

And think of the fun ~ anyway the current Mayor hasn't exactly NOT caused chaos has he?  ::)

Personally I think Ken has done a good job.

On balance yes but he dropped a few large goolies as well. Time for a change tho' I feel. It should not be a job for life. We need the system used elsewhere that says you can only serve two consequtive terms as Mayor or PM for that matter.
