Title: Labour's Broken Promises
Post by: Snoopy on December 22, 2007, 10:57:36 AM
I feel a list coming on. Just what has happened to all those pledges?
Here's a starter:

U-turn on mixed-sex hospital wards

and another:
Thousands of criminals from European countries, including those convicted of violent offences, will not even be considered for deportation unless they spend more than two years in prison, the Home Office has admitted.

Well it seems the only promise made in that manifesto that they've kept is to have an elected Mayor for London ~ and that gave us the Newt Fancier  ::)

Hmmmm ~ I just heard it on the World Service News too. ................. Not unexpected I s'pose.

But it does leave a nasty aftertaste of having been deceived for the sake of his ambition. I know he lied over so many things but to lie about your religion is just plain nasty somehow. They now claim "It is a private matter" but it was not a private matter that he was an Anglican ~ he shouted it from the roof tops given half a chance. Presumably he thought he would be unlikely to be elected PM had he "gone over" earlier.

Not really, he's realised he's getting on in life and has the blood of British Troops as well as thousands of Iraqi civillians on his hands. On the offchance there is an afterlife he 'finds' religion plans to have a confession just before the end and hey presto eternal paradise. Plus in the meantime he can get the backing of all those rabid american evangelical nutcases when he does the elcture tour in America. I wouldnt be surprised to hear he appears on one of those TV shows where some foaming at the mouth minister demands your money to save his mort....oops sorry...your souls.
