No Snoopy Not gone yet. evil: Early New Year.   cloud9:

No naff pressies yet... Titanium Watch, water proof to good depth...  rubschin: That could come in useful.

Far too many boxes of Chocolates to be good for me... 2 x huge Thornton's and far too big, Elizabeth Shaw Liqueur's ..(Need to hint for next year that I prefer the mints)... Still have managed to swap one for 3 Quiz books (I think they got us muddled up).

If I am very nice, I may get a glass of the rather nice bottle of Port someone else got... whistle:

Mrs TG bought her son (who is here with us for Xmas) a DS lite and the brain training thing. All I can her is various people constantly going 'red, red, blue, black' etc at the top of their voices (Mrs TG is a firm believer in shouting at inanimate objects) in scouse accents.

I may kill someone.  censored:

I know what you mean, I popped over to see the kids and grandkids and they have  one of those each, (the eldest 2) and they were yelling "Yellow" "Yellow" "Yellow". Like a stuck record. Still, result, I was invited to stay to lunch, and very nice it was too, and I still got home before Grumpy woke up, I can still hear him snoring as I type, (we are going through a rough patch, Doctor is refusing sleeping tablets, so he stays up all night and sleeps all day, whilst I am on the day shift.

I would not mind but I cannot fly both helicopters myself, and I want to see how they work when shot down. evil:

Well we wre very late, becuase we left late and Mrs Nick forgot to take their address with us, so we ended up in the right road and she knocked on a door. A bewildered and alarmed looking woman opened it and Mrs Nick explianed she had the wrong house and did the woman have any CHinese neighbours. SHe had the door shut in her face. I tried directory enquiries and discovered them to be ex-directory. So we wandered about a bit more till they saw us out of their window.  noooo:

Spring rolls, pork, prawns, crispy duck in pancakes. Not festive but very authentic. Conversation stilted as lady of the house spent the entire time in the kitchen (cooking fast and fresh) and Mr House had limited English.

We left and stopped off (briefly, but actually for four hours) at some other friends who had a houseful of pissed Norwegians, I know not why and no one ever explained. That was when the fun started lol:

TMR junior is out for the night and Mrs TMR and I have just feasted on the finest Indian cuisine in the Haweli of Belmont (only curry house open for miles around) - Mrs TMR now luxuriating in a hot scented bath, I am instructed to join in about ten minutes. Then, retire to the slumber pit, where I intend to find out other uses for the "Perfet Touch" personal massager that I also gave her  eyes:

Some b@st@rd always gives at least one of my children one of those "Archaeologist" kits where "buried treasures" have to be excavated from a block of what looks like stone but is some kind of plaster/sand mixture. The kid spends hours covering every surface with a fine dust as they scrape away with the provided "pick" only to discover that the "treasure" consists of three or four nasty cheap plastic toy "artifacts" that they would have been disappointed to find in a cracker. This year we have two such to contend with and I know there will be huge disappointment at the end of the day ~ but how can you take it away from the child? To watch the excitement as they start turn to despair at the "finds" is frankly heartbreaking. Banghead

On the subject of worst pressies ~ why would anyone (BiL) give me  "Miller's Guide to Antiques 2008"? ~ Most of our furniture came from Ikea or "sales" at house clearence places. My ex-wife took everything I had of any value including all items passed on by my parents and grandparents (On the "Before it's too late Dear I like you to have this" basis).
The only fvcking antique in this kennel is me and, as wives (Ex and current) have both stated many times, I'm worth damn all. cussing:

It was the Official Boxing Day Walk. Three hours, then 2 hours in the pub then back to someone's for vino collapso and ribald jokes. I forget what time we got home. I have just realised that my car is about three miles from here. I shall go for a nice walk to retrieve it.

Well, that's Christmas over.

All went well, we all ate and drank too much (as you should), the children were pleased with their presents, my mother only got grumpy once and it wasn't when we fleeced her at cards and my brother and his son were happy to sleep on the floor.

I chickened out of having goose and cooked a turkey, although I did buy some goose fat to cook the roasties in  happy088 The Christmas Eve gammon got the thumbs up as well.

No TV (except Doctor Who)

And not a thought about work.  cloud9:

Having been pointed to Barry Beelzebub by TMR's 'ahem' on another thread I noticed this little paragraph:

Quote from: Barry Beelzebub
I’D GOT so bored with turkey that I insisted that we should have goose for Christmas this year. Big mistake.
I swear I carried seven roasting trays full of fat out of the kitchen while the beast was in the oven (yes, of course you can rub it on your chest when you get a cold – if you’re certifiable), the whole house is now clad in a clammy emulsion of goose, and the damn thing didn’t really eat that well – too rich and still, unbelievably, too greasy.

I'm glad I went for the turkey.  ;D

My sister excelled herself with her customary tat from overseas business trips.

For me:

1. A hat that doesn't fit (to go with last year's hat that doesn't fit)
2. Two key rings (like I don't have enough key rings)
3. A box of Chinese chocolates that contain 90% hydrogenated fat and sawdust (probably)

For the daughter:
1. A pair of slippers two sizes too big
2. A dress one year too small
