I listened to the second half on Five Live.
'Spect there is one hell of a piss-up at Wenchy's tonight.

hope she had the off side rule explained to her
-
I will have you know that I am not a complete turnip head when it comes to football!
It was simply incredible! Amazing, the atmosphere, the singing, the result! Absolutely out of this world!
I think the late kick off was due to a desire to televise the Man Utd match.

New camera OK then?
-
Wasn't allowed to take the new camera. They were all with the old one. Mr Wench said I would ruin his day if I took the new one because he would be worrying about it all the time. ::)
-
Good result for you Wenchy and a good game. I didn't realise Dave Jones was the manager there. One of the good guys in football. I would like to think that had outside circumstances not changed things he would still be in charge at Southampton and that they'd still be in the Premiership (maybe)
-
I could be wrong but I have the feeling that he is a fairly recent addition. To be honest I have been fairly lax in my match attendance the last season and a half. Which became obvious when I only knew of a couple of players on the pitch. redface:
-
Dave Jones has been there a while .... he got the bullet from Southampton some years ago .... following some peado allegations against him.
-
BBC One Wales 6.30 News tonight.
Presenter: "Will Cardiff fans have to sing the British National Anthem or will they get to sing the Waleses Anthem at Wembley?" Banghead
Honestly .... when Leeds United got to the Cup Final did they expect to sing "On Ilkley Moor"?
When Newcastle United got there did their fans want to replace "God Save the Queen" with "The Blaydon Races"?
What is with these f*cking people? Sing whatever you bloody like ~ you normally do. cussing:
-
To be fair most of this is politician and media wind up. Most of the fans either can be bothered with an opinion or are of the belief that tradition should rule. They won't necessarily sing GSTQ but they won't boo it either.
-
Agreed but it was the way the silly bitch on the TV said "The Waleses National Anthem" that really wound me up.
-
Whole scenario has wound me up something chronic. I have such issues with the whole Welsh vs English at Cardiff matches. It is one of the reasons I haven't been for ages.
-
I see living among them as a missionary position. whistle:
-
I think I will aswell!
It is really bad at the football though. I was furious the first time I went. I had to leave at half time because I was about to blow my top. I find it ridiculous especially when you consider that their manager and more than half the team are bloody English. Banghead
-
Ah ~ Well the origins of the players are another matter entirely disconnected with supporting a "local" team. If you want to do that your only chance is to follow the local school's team.
-
Which I get totally if it is just a local issue but this is a national thing. Why on earth sing "stand up if you hate the English" when your manager and team are? Do you want them to play well for you? Singing "stand up if you hate Swansea" I can totally get on board with as it makes sense.
-
You had best come and join me in my missionary work whistle:

AS IF! ;)

I thought it was a half decent game, certainly better than your Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea stalemates we have been "entertained" with in the past. Both teams played with flair and good spirit, not one nasty tackle, no hordes of players surrounding the ref, both managers being interviewed together. Can you imagine Wenger and Ferguson doing that. As they said, "the fans final"
-
Most finals tend to be disappointing, there's too much at stake for the teams to play exciting, open football. The fear of losing stifles play For neutrals finals are not really worth watching. For committed fans it's a different matter.
-
Well Wenchy ~ how was it?
-
Atmosphere incredible, fans well behaved, quite a good match for a final, plenty going on. Obviously the result was not great. Neither was the behaviour of MILFH and Mr Wench outside the stadium afterwards. noooo:
