Title: Is it that bad?
Post by: Pastis on April 24, 2008, 04:41:36 PM
I've known feasts and famines before but the current dearth of work has me worried. Everyone seems to be saying "Sorry, nothing happening right now". And it's not only me; a friend of mine has a recruitment consultancy with loads of applicants but no places... And another friend with a retail business says the footfall has slowed to an ominous funeral march...  scared2:

Still, it's not all bad; this site tells me that my property has only fallen in value by 10% ... so far  ::)

Tomorrow I return the hire car and pick up my own, now the front bumper and front side panel has been replaced. I was hit by Ms Honeydew Ndogo who wasn't paying attention to other road users at the time. Small mercy that she actually had insurance!  evil:

I'm now convinced more than ever that "May you live in interesting times" is actually a curse.

Now, where's that website about moving to Cyprus...

Depends who's asking the question  ;)

I draw pictures (youngest nephew)

I'm an International Design Guru of more than 30 years standing (bank manager / potential client)

I'm an Ar'ist (rather attractive woman at party  eyes:)

So ~ Like many of us here you scrape by utilising what talent you possess, accepting that there are good months/years and bad but it's better than actually "working". happy088
In the meantime it's best not to enquire too deeply as being told to p*ss off and mind your own business offends.

I'm currently researching the feasibility of retiring early, renting out the London pad and going to live / work on a ship cruising sunnier climes  rubschin:

I was retired early ~ it's amazing how little one can live on when push comes to shove.

My company normally received about 1200 mortgage applications per week. So far this week, we have had 141...

I kinda get the feeling that my redundancy may come sooner than March 2009.  cloud9:

Hey ho! Mr Posty has turned up...
 Banghead
"The driver who was involved in the accident with you was not driving fully in accordance with the terms of her provisional licence...

Shite  cussing:  Ah, but wait, she had her boyfriend in the car. He has a licence so that's ok, surely?

She was accompanied by a full licence holder...  Phew!  ;D

...who had not held a full licence for the necessary 3 years. Currently our underwriting department are considering if we can deal with her claim.

 Banghead Banghead Banghead

But, it does seem that if I sign something about "assignment and agreement" - which runs to 3 pages long - and there's something about "without prejudice".... Moi? prejudiced?

More paperwork ...   cussing:
