So she finally resigned. But with such ill grace!
She claimed the complaints against her were "vexatious" and the decision of MSPs on the committee was partisan.
She said that she thought the parliamentary process had been "cynically abused" by political opponents who had used "investigation as political tactic".
No dear, you hid your donations for your (uncontested) Leadership election

BUT it is another nail in Brown's coffin.

Judging from the heavy hints in the Sunday Papers there is more to come for Brown. Obviously the Labour mob are spinning the Bottomleys and Spelman for all they are worth but bigger and worse pitfalls await Golden in the coming weeks it seems.
Meanwhile I wait, with bated breath, to see how he will get Labour out of their massive debt problems. Most of those "loans" are due for repayment soon and it doesn't look like the Unions are going to stump up. This could, God willing, be the end of them.
-
The Unions will be happy to step in with extra funds provided they get a bigger say in government policy. And Brown isn't going to care as long as he can remain as Prime Minister. He isn't going to quit a job he's coveted for years without a fight.

True but somehow I don't see the unions coming up with £25 million when even they know that Labour have absolutely no chance of being in power long enough to be able to keep any promises made. Changes to employment law etc will take time to get through, even for this government, and Cameron will undo any they do pass as soon as he gets in.

There's still two years to go before an election has to be held ~ enough time for Brown to sell his soul (and the country)

Labour owes the Co Op £15.9million.
According to Private Eye the Co op has been given some preference in the development of these wretched Eco Towns. Coincidence?

BUT it is another nail in Brown's coffin.
Slightly off topic but if you have a spare half hour its worth going on to the Radio 4 listen again site and playing friday's Now Show just for Marcus Brigstock reworking The Raven to be about Brown
