Title: Crepes
Post by: Pastis on July 25, 2008, 03:59:43 PM
Somewhere under the congealed and rancid pile of threads in The Restaurant there's one called pancake day, but since it's not pancake day I'll call this one Crepes.

I thought I'd make some last night. Mmmmmmmm... delicious  cloud9:  Really simple ones with a drop of sugar and lemon juice. In fact I made so much batter that they'll be on the menu again tonight, oh dear  ;D

I fancy trying some savoury ones and came across this one:

The Londoner: A savoury crepe filled with scrambled egg, smoked bacon and cheese  eeek:  Could be interesting for a weekend brekkie  rubschin:

Any favourites?

It's that sort of a year I think. We have 12 kilos of assorted jams made and in the larder already.

You could well be right. B-in-law tells me all the wheat is in and he's now crackin' on with the rapeseed ~ and not yet August. At this rate they'll be taking their winter break in September  confused:

Getting back to crepes. My favorite savoury is spinach and ricotta cooked in the oven with white sauce. Best sweet flavour is nutella and amaretto flambe.  cloud9:
