Took my two little boys to teach them some of the finer arts of trout fishing, show them some nature around the streams and generally have a jolly male bonding time. We were out for four hours. I'm f*cking knackered. They of course are still bouncing off of all walls. At one point, whilst stressing the virtues of patience, calmness and QUIET, I found myself eyeing the priest wistfully.
For the non anglers in this case a priest is the small wooden baton with a brass or lead tip that one uses to give the last rites to the fish:

I remember catching sticklebacks as a kid
I can remember catching them as an adult, usually in matches where they weren't much help in putting a decent weight together.
Oh and Pope, which nearly always swallowed the hook.

Like all Popes, they should be dispensed with quickly.
We either used to catapault them against the wall at Hampton Court bridge (great splatter), or, for a giggle, up to the road over the bridge hoping a passing convertible was hood-down. redface:
No Pope was safe with me - either now or then...

Pope? shrugs:

Nasty, big-gobbed greedy wastes of space. A bit like Cherie Blair.

Of course it is a 'Priest'. You could hardly bash the fish with a 'Bishop' now could you?

No lol: ......... but there are those here to whom one needs to explain these things.
