Title: At what point
Post by: Snoopy on October 10, 2008, 11:32:34 AM
Should we start to buy shares in the expectation hope of making a killing in a year or two?

Anyone planning to do some investing now that shares are at their lowest for some years?

I think it can go lower yet...  whistle:

However, it is clear that some shares are undervalued at the moment.

The Bank of squeaky floorboard is prolly your safest bet at the moment...

More or less my feelings.
We are agreed, I suspect, that there has to be some benefit to us and not just the fat cats out of all this.

That would be nice...

Although I feel they would have been better off investing the £500billion (or however much it is today) in pension funds instead of giving it to wankers bankers...  noooo:

Work out the larger multinational conglomorates and the essential companies and keep an eye on their prices and news.

Like my last employer. This is their share price chart since I left them. The first big dip equates to the year after I left.

Nah ~ after They pensioned me off they made a lot of others redundant under a "reorganisation", sold a few companies and sacked Sir Clive Thompson who had been CEO. From then on it has been all downhill. From 465 pence a share in my day to 49.75 pence today. I don't see them coming back. The group is being progressively broken up. They have lost the plot.
