Title: What to do?
Post by: Snoopy on November 25, 2008, 06:51:33 PM
The Arsenal are on ITV4 and Man U are on ITV1 ~ both live at the same time. Which to watch or shall I drive SWMBO up the wall by channel hoping every few minutes to check the scores?  eveilgrin:

I watched Star Trek Voyager on Virgin 1 instead and flicked over during the many advert breaks.

I refuse to pay to watch Virgin or any other channel unless compelled by law (ie having a TV licence)

Virgin 1 is free.

Then why does my TV (FreeSat from Sky) demand that I pay to watch it? ~ I just checked.
Nah ~ don't bother, I wouldn't want to watch Star Trek Voyager anyway ~ utter crap IMHO.

Have now checked the other set (running on Freeview) and that does not receibve it either.

The third set is purely a small portable that picks up only three channels anyway (this is Wales thus C4 and C5 are NOT available)

No idea ~ channel 20 on my TV.

Perhaps a rescan is required.

If we are talking Freeview we are on the fringes of signal areas and are one of those parts of the country that will NOT be guaranteed a picture come the big change over ~ at least according to the Government web site dealing with the matter. We are lucky, so they tell me, to get any Freeview reception. Cross the street and they cannot receive it at all. Mountain in the way. Radio signals bounce up but do not come down again apparently. They do undulate but the slope is too much for that effect to work.

There is your answer Snoop. Virgin have to pay to show sky one on their cable service so the same would happen with the Virgin channels .
