IMHO the wrong move.

However, his beard! what does he think he looks like?

Did he jump or was he pushed?

The beard is something that has come and gone throughout his career ~ bad move IMO as it makes him look a bit IRA.

Personally I always felt he needed time as number two with someone else. It would need to have been a top man with a very strong personality (Ferguson perhaps) before taking on the top role himself.

The guv'nor of a pub I used to drink in was from also from Cork and knew him quite well - he confirmed as much.

To be expected really. Can't approve of their methods but their grievances had a good deal of truth in them I guess.

Anywhoo ~ wonder what young Berek makes of this news?
Wonder who will replace him?
Wonder if he will ever get the Ireland job he so obviously wants?
