I love the fact that his secret service detatchment didnt save him, his 'attacker' was disarmed and restrained by the remaining journalists. I've been listening to an american radio station and they've been hysterical saying how when it was Reagan one of the DSS detatchment leaped in front of the bullet to save him but nobody wants to get in front of Bush and a moving object.

Oh how we chortled. lol:
Newspapers across the Arab world printed front-page photos of Bush ducking the flying shoes, and satellite TV stations repeatedly aired the incident, which provided fodder for jokes and was hailed by the president's many critics in the region.
"Iraq considers Sunday as the international day for shoes," said a joking text message circulating around the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Palestinian journalists in the West Bank town of Ramallah joked about who would be brave enough to toss their shoes at Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, another US official widely disliked in the region.
Many users of the popular internet networking site Facebook posted the video of the incident to their profile pages, showing al-Zeidi leap from his chair as Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki were about to shake hands and hurl his shoes at the president, who was about 20 feet away. Bush ducked the airborne footwear and was not injured in the incident.
"This is a farewell kiss, you dog," al-Zeidi yelled in Arabic as he threw his shoes. "This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq." happ096
1st class comedy in a turbulent and sad country. Makes a refreshing change.
I'll say something for the rancid old buzzard, he's got excellent reactions.....unfortunately. Loved to have seen those shoes hit him square in his massive hyena like face.
-
Seeing as the other journalists gave him enough time to unfasten and take off both shoes l'd say they were hoping for the same thing.

At least they weren't Bush Puppies. redface:

Some interesting insults from around the world mentioned here rubschin:

There is also a little-known Saudi Arabian sign which involves making a V-sign with the thumb and forefinger of one hand, and placing this over the side of the other, which roughly translates as “I shall ride you as I would a donkey”. This should also be non-sexual in nature, although that obviously depends on exactly how fond your interlocutor is of his ass.

Ah! We've all had that and the following colds etc. Just about run its course in this house I hope.
-
There was a cough mix I had a couple of years ago that tasted like it was made from Satan's arse crack sweat but it killed any cold almost immediately. Pulmo Baileys (I think that's how it was spealt, thats the pronunciation anyway).
Having said that it could be that because it tasted so bad we deliberately ignored any symptoms afterwards. sick2:

I've been stuck in the office since first thing, I haven't had a chance to even look at a paper Snoop. Its disturbing to think I'm on the same wavelength as the Sun though eeek:
