Title: Anyone made any resolutions for 2009?
Post by: Snoopy on January 01, 2009, 11:00:28 AM
And if so do you expect to keep them?

Snoopy's number one New Year resolution is to stop eating over my keyboard. I've given up trying to get the shite out of it and am ordering a new one today.

My next resolution is to win the lottery , find a nice man ( happy001 ) , move out of London and lose a few pounds and ounces.

If I achieve one of those by the end of the year I will be very impressed.

First thing I did this morning upon returning to work was to apply for my sabbatical (paid). A whole month off in May for working in this place for so long  - what a motivating thing to do at the start of a new year  cloud9:

affectionate
funny
hard working etc

No ~ I'm sorry to tell you but we have all been happily (to be) married but the reality never quite matches the dream.
Don't get me wrong ~ I am not unhappily married either ~ just simply married. I can find nothing in the married state that has made me any happier than when I was happily single. I am, I would say, content with matters as they stand. It could be worse (it was first time round) but then it could, I suspect, be better. Marriage does have a nasty habit of changing things that you neither expect nor want to change.

But Mrs TMR (to be) is a total angel  cloud9: What would change?

Her ankles will suddenly become seriously attracted to one another ~ to the extent that they will part only under circumstances of extreme bribery ~ in my experience that is. Bribery by the way takes many forms but all will mean you end up doing something you would not otherwise have done.
The solution to this, I discovered, was to find other ankles that parted more easily ~ this cost me a house, two children, some serious money and a lot of friends but I did get away with it for twenty years.

Like GOS I referred to my first wife by a pet name ~ I used to call her "My Sleeping Beauty". She never questioned this until the divorce and she finally asked me why ~ I told her it was because every time she felt a prick in her hand she would fall asleep. I still have the scar from where the handbag hit me.

Mrs S#2 is introduced as "The Present Mrs S"

Everyone is better off single - no one else to blame for anything but yourself. No one making demands of you (of any sort !!), expecting anything from you or judging you for the actions you have or haven't done.

However that would be a dull and desolate life eventually - even for you Nick .
