Title: Don’t use the S-word. This is a place of learning, not a school

When is a school not a school? When it is “a place for learning”.

Watercliffe Meadow Primary in Sheffield has adopted the new phraseology because it thinks that the word school may have negative connotations for pupils and parents.

Linda Kingdon, the head teacher, said that the change would bring the school (or place of learning) closer to real life. But critics condemned it as laughable political correctness.

 Banghead

For fucks sake, I've heard it all now...  noooo:

Oh no you haven't ~ we have Obama's inaugural address to get through yet as well as Gordon's big ideas for getting the country out of the mess he has landed us in.

On the subject of Gordon ~ does his carrying on not remind you of the famous last lines from The Italian Job? Sort of Michael Caine without the looks, charm or wit.

"Hang on lads ~ I've had an idea"

And next to the kennel there is the second hand sale of ever so slightly used but much fiddled with electrical equipment. All Guaranteed no longer required items that have been superseded by something bigger n better.

AAAhhh the Cypriot Maplins outlet - indeed  8)

We will also require Nick's Bakery - not sure we would get the insurance cover for this though
Wenchy's Tat Shop - on condition that she has to sell to other Tat collectors and not add to her own collection
Growlers Adventure Tours - with no promises of actually bringing you back from anywhere
Uncle Mort's legal advice - guaranteed quick decisions made on rules and regs

I heard about this yesterday, absolute bollocks. When they reopened Winchester library after a revamp last year it was renamed "The Discovery Centre". Why?  Shrugs:

To put off the alcoholics and tramps from thinking it was somewhere they could doss for the day  lol:
