There is no such thing as a bad book IMHO ~ Soooooooo ~ Anything you haven't already got, but hurry up because they have a sale on and you might be able to get two books for your voucher.

This looks interesting

Indeed but Castrati are not necessarily Eunuchs

Castrai sing in high pitched voices ~ Eunuchs do not, if they had reached adulthood before the meat and two veg were removed.

[pedantry]
A Eunuch is a castrated male, in Latin they are called castrati. The practice of castrating pure-voiced boys before their voices broke was common in the church to provide soprano choirboys, known, correctly, as castrati.
Not all Sopranos are Eunuchs

The 'frequently bought together' note on the Amazon link suggests The Lodger. It was R4's book of the week or dramatised last year I think... fascinating.

Anyhoo, I thought Kit Marlowe was a spy  cool14: , at least that's what we were led to believe when doing Tamburlaine the Great  whistle:

Ahhh... fabulous book! It was that and Simon Winchester's "Korea - a walk through the land of Miracles" that inspired me to take the train from Pusan to Seoul rather than fly. A great journey  cloud9:

Someone I knew was working in Dubai and had to come back to teh UK for aminor eye operation. He ended up staying with his deeply annoying father. Doc said he couldn't fly for 6 weeks. Fearing he would be driven insane he got Cooks to work out an overland route for him. It took him three weeks, but he reckoned his sanity was worth it  razz:
