The past couple of days have been prime examples of me offering advice / telling my daughter to do something. Being completely ignored. Then her coming back only to do exactly what I'd said.
Yesterday - she wanted to go out to meet her friends on the common for a snowfight . Wear your wellies I suggested. You have to be joking - my Uggs keep my feet warm - she replied noooo:
An hour later she returns , her feet soaked , her boots trashed and thoroughly miserable ( I said nothing but just gave one of those looks noooo:)
Today again something similar on the clothing front - ignored - back in half an hour moaning. I didn't even bother looking this time.
Why are kids so bloody opposed to any suggestions that a parent may have.
It does get better doesn't it evil: evil: evil:

Nope!
My 39 year old daughter still thinks I am stupid.
-
You have to let them learn by their own mistakes whilst keeping a parental eye on them. Also I find the liberal use of reverse psychology works (not always as teenagers are not as dumb as they sometimes act)

It seems like a never ending battle Banghead Banghead Banghead
-
It is ~ and then, just as your outstretched hands reach for their throats, they do or say something that completely makes up for it all.
-
What I find infuriating is that they think they know everything Banghead Banghead Banghead
I of course don't have a clue because I was obviously born a fossil ::)

Good job we weren't like that eh?
It is just part of the learning process for them.
I reckon they don't really see the light until their 30's and with luck they have survived unscathed enough to know what we know.

Did you not know that teenagers invented sex?
When I asked the THW how she thought she got here she replied "You and Mum? ~ Gross!" eeek:
I have said it many times and been taken to task for it here and elsewhere but I do love all my children equally and deeply ~ However I do not actually like them. IMHO There is nothing very likeable about children.
I find them frustrating, annoying, loveable, distracting and frankly, at times, horrid ~ but I wouldn't be without them.
Oh ~According to Jonathon Porritt I am an irresponsible person because I have more than two children thus am using up the earth''s valuable resources ~ and I thought I was just having a fvck!
So he's another one for the gallows come the revolution.

Ohh my sides hurt.
My laughter sent her storming upstairs whistle:

The Boy regards me as an imbecile for some reason. I used to get the 'Why' questions when he was smaller. Then it was 'Why...?' I would answer and he would say 'How do you know?' I always felt like strangling him on those occasions.
And he loses stuff all the time. How can you lose the strap of your saxophone FFS? Angry9:
-
You still get 'Why' questions now Nick - just from Growler ;D

He's an idiot too! Banghead Banghead Banghead
Who in their right mind keeps a computer in a garage? noooo:
