This lad is looking good for the Drivers Championship this year.
Has anyone done it his first season before?

Just for one horrible moment. . . . . . . .

Lewis Hamilton insists a dose of 'flu will not affect his performance in this week's European Grand Prix in Germany.
The McLaren driver, who leads the championship by 12 points, has been on medication for the last few days.
The 22-year-old said: "I don't think it's going to be a problem. I've just caught a bit of 'flu, but it's OK. I'm really up for it.
Too much information there, old chum. Perhaps it's the "medication"

I must admit I laughed, this rivalry is more entertaining than the races
-
Uncle Ron is sort of blaming young Hammy now for going out of sequence.
Sounds like a load of old bullshit to me.
He's covering for the slimey spick to stop this all getting out of hand. Accusations of cheating would not go down well in the F1 heirarchy rest assured, and the whole company would have suffered as a consequence if admitted as being the true fact...as it is.
Alonso has lost ALL credibilty now, and as shown his true self as being a poor and bitter loser. He's already openly admitted that he absolutely hates coming second.
-
Justice has been done. happy088
Cheating little spaniard relegated to sixth place.
Seem the stewards didn't fall for McLarens futile pethetic explanations either.
-
great news, he'll struggle from 6th, greasy wanker
-
Young Hammy it seems, isn't such the sweet looking obedient little employee after all, if you believe what the press are claiming was said in this mornings papers. eeek:
Hamilton, the 22-year-old from Stevenage, had exchanged angry words with his team boss Ron Dennis as he returned to the pits, reportedly saying: ?Don?t ever f****** do that to me again!? Dennis replied: ?Don?t ever f****** speak to me like that again!? Hamilton delivered a final riposte: ?Go f****** swivel!?

The problem is, that when Alonso signed up for the team, well before Lewis H arrived, he signed up as the Number one driver and did not expect to be playing 2nd fiddle to a "Rookie", 22 year old, wet behind the ears, novice driver. He expected the team to support him 100% a bit like Ferrari did with Schumi, and that was never going to happen, noooo: LH has loads of natural ability, more than a little class, and he refuses to do anything which is not in his best interest, whilst still being as much of a team player as he can be. Good luck to him. I still hope that Jenson will get his hands on a real car, before he gets much older, he had / has loads of potential, but you do still need a vehicle to show it at its best. ... redface: Sorry ... rant over ...and breath...

Lewis Hamilton's Formula One world title dream is still alive, even though McLaren were severely punished by the World Motor Sport Council on Thursday.
Following the emergence of fresh evidence in the spy scandal, McLaren will lose all their constructors points for this season, while they have been hit in the pocket with a record fine of 100 million dollars (?49.2million). Also, no further points can be scored for the remainder of the season
So that's it then. Ferrari win the constructors title by default. ::)
-
who exactly gets the $100 million ???
-
who exactly gets the $100 million ???
Very good question. rubschin:
I dunno tbh.
The gin swiggers at the FIA p'raps?
The gin swiggers at the WMSC p'raps?
One things for sure. Mr Dennis will not be a happy teddy, and heads are going to roll.
Don't suppose Mercedes are overjoyed with overwhelming happiness either.
-
?50 million? That's just ridiculous ~ their last reported profits were only ?10m on a turnover of ?250m.
Quiet apart from the size of the fine there seems to be no evidence that they have actually gained any benefit from whatever it is they are alleged to have done ~ and that seems to be a big secret. This is not justice but smacks far more of politics within F1.

Read all about here Snoops:

A large amount of skullduggery been going on by the sounds of it.
As Martin Brundle has just said, they really couldn't penalise the drivers concerned, as this could/would ultimately damage the reputation and more importantly THE income that they generate via sponsors, advertising and viewing figures.
Everything these days is now simply down to money sadly.
-
All sounds like normal business practice to me. We used to "debrief" competitors disaffected employees whenever we could. All this proves is that F1 is not a sport but a business.
20 Men racing their own vehicles round a track would be a sport.
This, however, is all about selling cars.

Lewis Hamilton is facing a stewards' investigation into his driving while under the safety car in the Japanese Grand Prix.
The officials are understood to be considering whether Hamilton could have contributed to the collision between Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel that took the duo out of second and third places during the second caution period at Fuji.
"New evidence has been brought to the stewards' attention and they are currently investigating the matter," an FIA spokesman told autosport.com.
He could lose ALL of the points gained last Sunday if the FIA are pissed on enough gin to find him guilty...in their opinion.
Of course, guess who's chuckin' best Shell racing fuel on the fire too?
Yea, that's right. That bastard Spick turnip chimping munter Alonsoran. evil:

Hamilton cleared after Japan row
Hamilton has been upset by the whole saga since Japan
Lewis Hamilton will not be punished for alleged erratic driving behind the safety car in the Japanese Grand Prix.
The 22-year-old had been under investigation and at risk of losing the 10 points for his race win in Fuji.
But the FIA has ruled Hamilton will not be penalised following an accident where Sebastian Vettel crashed into Mark Webber in appalling conditions.
And Vettel has had a 10-place penalty on the starting grid for Sunday's Chinese GP replaced with a reprimand.
The ruling leaves Hamilton on the verge of winning the championship in his debut season, as he takes a 12-point lead over McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso into the final two races.
Hamilton, Vettel and Webber and their team officials reported to stewards at the Chinese Grand Prix.
They watched parts of the Japan race, including amateur video of the accident which had appeared on video-sharing website YouTube.
Common sense has prevailed
Following that meeting, the stewards stated: "The involvement of Lewis Hamilton in this incident has been considered in the light of the evidence given by him, his team manager and in particular all other parties present and no penalty is imposed on him."
Earlier on Friday Hamilton had expressed his disillusionment over the whole saga, which erupted after Webber accused him of doing a "bad job" behind the safety car, which was employed because of the wet weather.
Red Bull driver Webber was knocked out of the race by Toro Rosso's Vettel when they were following Hamilton and the Australian believes Hamilton braked excessively behind the safety car on lap 45.
Hamilton said: "If I've been in the wrong, I've been the first to put my hand up, or apologise at least.
"And I don't mind being given a penalty but there's been some real strange situations this year where I'm made to look the bad person.
"If this is the way it's going to keep going it's not somewhere I want to be.
Surely this could all have been decided yesterday, when Toro Rosso made their appeal"
"I had a good weekend, I didn't put a foot wrong. I didn't do anything to put anyone else in danger.
"I just think it's a real shame for the sport. Formula One is supposed to be about hard, fair competition.
"That's what I've tried to do this year, just be fair."
BBC 5Live's David Croft has questioned why the ruling was so long in coming.
He said: "The three-man panel studied the new evidence and decided it added little to their original film.
"So why the delay? Surely this could all have been decided yesterday, when Toro Rosso made their appeal.
"To leave it 24 hours before interviewing the drivers, keeping Hamilton in particular waiting in limbo on such a critical weekend, appears unnecessary at the very least.
"It is situations like this that have left the British driver frustrated by the politics of F1."
-
Well I'm glad common sense has prevailed.
ALonSORAN must be absolutely gutted lol:, and Webber won't be getting his free trip to Disney World now either char090....pair of little shits. lol:

-
WUHEY! What a stonking performance that was in qualifying ey? eeek:
Not often I'll agree with the poison dwarf Ecclestone, but I and the vast majority can't argue with his statement this time:
Ecclestone is hopeful that he will win it, as he feels neither current world champion Fernando Alonso nor Kimi Raikkonen do enough to help promote F1.
"It is painfully obvious to me that the right guy to be world champion is Lewis,” he said.
“In fact my main fear would be if he didn't win it.
“Kimi Raikkonen barely talks to anyone and as such has done little for the sport, and as for Alonso, in his two years as world champion he has done nothing.
“He hasn't really been an F1 campaigner at all, but if Lewis wins the drivers' championship he will act like a real world champion.

I watch every F1 race and practice, and still fondly remembered the aroma of Castrol R and fixing bikes with bits of wire and chewing gum, and praying they would get through scruiteneering. I am sure I mentioned previously that as the only non smoker in the crew, I always mixed the fuel (nitro), cos the others were a bit older and wiser. We sort of evolved into Drag racing after racing in places like Staverton, and Llandough. We were only let down by our rusty Commer van, Robin Reliant and spending too long in the Bar tent and not long enough on practice. redface: I could not do it now though, a quiet rally would be a bit OTT these days. whistle: Thinking back, the last one of those, was a while ago but even that was a bit hairy and ended in a DNF. noooo:

Thanks Puss. Someone who understands about this motor sport passion thing.
Look. We have precious little to get excited about in this wretched lousy country of ours as it is, so when the opportunity comes along to feel uplifted and extremely hopeful of a long awaited British success,
I think it's only natural to feel a 'tad' ::) down hearted when it all goes tits up as ridiculously as it did this morning?
Remember that totally dreadful final race at Adelaide for Mansell to win the F1 championship Puss? i was choked for a week after that. sad32:
I've been like a bear with a sore arse all day over this, and THAT is my perogative, OK?
I WILL live with it, as I have no option, but why shouldn't I and many many others feel downhearted and disappointed on what we perhaps stupidly thought, was going to be a GREAT British day for English sport?
Hopefully that will still come in just 2 weeks time. happy088
I'll be in Greece for the final round. They better have it on their tv's, or it'll be more than their bastard dishes that get broken. eveilgrin:
By the way, I'm no rugby fan AT ALL, but I was bloody made up to see them have the Aussies yesterday, and will follow their progress with great interest.
I dare say the 'followers' of said sport in here and nationwide, will feel as equally pensive and passionate about the outcome of Englands destiny in the tournament as both myself an 'Puss' do about the F1 saga outcome.

Bloody great big tree in the way, and adjacent to the track on the other side isn't where I'd want it anyway.
You'd have to see the place to understand what i mean really. It would have to be dragged into the Swamp, and that would be nigh on impossible due to the soft earth.
It currently belongs to some 'caving enthusiasts club' apparently, but the landowner has been told by the council to get them to get it removed for some reason.

This could make one of the happiest holidays ever for me, especially if the mighty REDS beat the bitter bitter blues that same afternoon.
I don't expect much sunbathing will be done on Sunday week, just plenty of ale and whiskey being downed in the bar. eastdrink048

That's for real, my brother's call sign back in the late sixties. He had all the kit set up in the old coal shed. We could pick it up on the radiogram(!).

confused: Some natives were almost invisible. ::) Nice to know they are recovering now we have left the area.
Others however, were twice as large as life and most hospitable. 8) Almost made up for the huge wedge paid out in extra accommodation, and hanging about with nothing to do all morning. noooo:

I did caution you ~ agoraphobia is not a joke I can assure you.
But I was also genuinely busy all day with tradesmen and baby sitting. I do not have the luxury of being free to come and go as I please as I do have other responsibilities ~ sorry.

But no one inside his McLaren team is willing to talk about it in case they jinx his big day."

AHEM! I think you may be laughing a little too soon, oh puppy dog, the 2 BMW's are being investigated for fuel irregularities and may yet be disqualified, if so, then he WILL be the WORLD CHAMPION... He who laughs last etc. Fingers crossed Growler... scared2:
-
Ahem!
here was a late twist when it emerged race officials were investigating the fuel used by Williams and BMW Sauber, whose cars filled fourth, fifth and sixth places.
But the stewards decided to impose no penalty.
Had they been disqualified, Hamilton would have moved up to fourth, giving him enough points to win the world title.

The Spanish are all keering Hamilton, since they seem to favour Alonso for some odd reason. There were ugly scenes at breakfast when the Boy remonstrated with some cheering Spaniards at the next table. The breakfast news showed Hamilton´´s off roading experience about 20 times!

Having only recently recovered from the huge disappointment of THAT race, I was cheered immensly to read these incredible facts about 'our Hammy's' achievements this year:
He may not have capped his astounding debut year with the world title, but, as Lewis Hamilton himself says, he has still enjoyed a "phenomenal" first year in Formula 1.
Indeed it's been a season in which he has ripped up the record books and although one landmark eluded him in Brazil, he has still achieved many more...
Lowering the benchmark
Youngest world championship leader – 22 years, 4 months, six days (Spain 2007)
First rookie to win, take pole position and set fastest lap in a McLaren
Youngest driver to score pole, win, fastest lap hat-trick – Japan 2007
Straight on the pace
Most points in a debut season – 109
Most podiums in debut season – 12
Most races led in debut season – 12
Most pole positions in debut season – 6
Most front row starts in debut season – 12
Fastest driver to reach 100 career points (15 races)
Most consecutive podiums from debut race – 9 (Australia-Britain 2007)
Most consecutive points finishes from debut race – 9 (Australia-Britain 2007)
Most consecutive number of races led from debut race – 7 (Australia-USA 2007)
Britain's instant hero
Youngest British driver to win in F1 – 22 years, 5 months, 3 days (Canada 2007)
Youngest British driver to score pole position – 22 years, 5 months, 2 days (Canada 2007)
Youngest British driver to register fastest lap – 22 years, 3 months, 1 day (Malaysia 2007)
Youngest British driver to finish on podium – 22 years, 2 months, 11 days (Australia 2007)
Youngest British driver to qualify on front row – 22 years, 3 months, 8 days (Bahrain 2007)
Youngest British driver to lead a race – 22 years, 2 months, 11 days (Australia 2007)
Most points for a British driver in one season – 109 (Previous record Nigel Mansell, 108)
Stick that on your dummy and suck it Alonsoarsewipe. point:

No. Did he? eeek:
He may well have lost that race, and indeed the championship THIS year, but he has gained immense respect and admiration from millions globaly.
He hasn't lost the battle for future championships though. He will have learnt from his mistakes this year.
We have a future English F1 world champion in the making. Odds on. happy088

Former world champion Fernando Alonso has left McLaren after negotiating an early release from his contract.
McLaren and Alonso have had an acrimonious relationship this season and a team statement said that both parties had "agreed to move on".
Alonso is free to join another team in 2008, and his agent said neither party would pay a financial penalty.
Red Bull and Renault are the favourites to sign him, and BBC Sport understands Red Bull are the more likely option.
Alonso's relationship with McLaren soured following a series of rows with team boss Ron Dennis this season.
I am sure this little piece of news will cheer up Growler, it did me. cloud9:
