On me way back from an extremely pleasant walk up me 'ill, I was overtaken by 3 Billy Bikers at a fairly relaxed rate.
Not really wanting to appear to be deliberately beligerant towards our biker friends, I passed comment to Growler jnr., after watching them for 10 minutes in front of me, drive considerately and within the speed limits. Quite admirable considering they were riding on big blurts of machines, and not what I and fellow motorist normally has to to endure on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
However, I just knew it wouldn't last. ::)
On his way back from the Ponderosa caf., up The Horse Shoe Pass...bikers gathering place, came THE cock of the N.W. on his 5000cc Yamahama Jap crap with 1" rear number plate and drain pipe exhast, approaching me from behind in a 60 limit at i would say 90 - 100 mph, acting like the total utter tosser that we sadly come to expect now.
I couldn't believe the space he overtook me through, narrowly missing a middle of the road bollard, and then proceeded to cut up the law abiding bikers.
Ironically, I was going to post this thread anyway, but just to say how pleasant and pleasing it was to meet some considerate bikers on a Sunday afternoon for a change.
Sadly it wasn't meant to be. noooo:

I agree about the Horseshoe Pass. Haven't tried the cafe but we often drive to Llangollen that way from here and come back along the Conwy Valley.
It saddens me that such a tragedy happened up there but at least the little ones had that wonderful view as their last memory.
On Wednesday, an inquest heard how a mother had to listen on the phone as her estranged husband killed himself and their four young children.
Farm labourer Keith Young, 38, drove his sons Joshua, seven, Thomas, six, Callum, five and Daniel, three to a beauty spot at the Horseshoe Pass, near Llangollen, north Wales, during an access visit.
He then gassed them by running a petrol lawnmower in the back of the family car, describing what was happening as he spoke to the boys' mother on his mobile phone.
North Wales Police officers who attended the scene said they were faced with one of the most shocking scenes they had ever seen.
Deputy Chief Constable Bill Brereton, said the incident was "horrendous beyond my imagination".

Yes of course. Just around the corner that happened. Tragic and totally uneccessary.

What is this then? (Serious) (for once)

That crazy horrible suicide (him) murder (kids) thing a couple of years ago, when the father decided if he couldn't have his kids, his missus wasn't going to have them either. Nasty nasty stuff.
Don't tell me you didn't hear/read about it. eeek:

Sorry, if I did then I forgot

Nutters as described by Growler above are an insult to most bikers. Part of the reason I bought the old Triumph is that simply don't want to ride like a loon - you are happy to plod along with both wheels on the ground. Don't think I went above 60mph yesterday, but it was a throughly enjoyable ride. I still have the nutter Suzuki in the garage, but I don't really want to ride it anymore!

Even one of the three 'sensible' riders shook his head as 'dead brain dick' swerved past him, bloody tosser.
Noticed that one of the bikes was new with an 09 plate, only his version was a piece of white cardboard with his digits inked on.
Anyway, it was a pleasure to see these lads riding sensibly, and within the limits that are sensible for the road that they were on. It's not exactly rocket science is it?

Indeed Growler. Still, there was one chap on this :-

which, as I'm sure you know is a 1912 Indian. Notice the lack of any brakes eeek: It's a brave (or stupid) man that rides a bike worth c£100,000 on busy Sunday roads in Surrey.
