Title: Advisor Dictatorship

I went into my bank this morning ( one of the one's that is actually open on a Saturday morning ).

I waited patiently in the queue at the information desk. My mission was simple -  to check when some money was going to clear and also to cancel a policy that I no longer required. The policy and payments are run by my bank.

Part 1 was simples. Yes the cheque has gone in and will take the normal 3 million days to clear whilst we try and earn as much interest as possible from it  evil:

However the second bit proved much more difficult. So I said,  I want to give you a months notice of my intention to cease this policy as is required. I had also drafted a short letter to that effect that I had signed and handed it to the clerk.

"You will need to take a seat and see our advisor"  I was told. " Mmmmm , what for"  I politely enquired.

" to discuss your request "

"It is not a request " - I said slightly losing my cool now - " it is a statement of fact. I am cancelling my policy, I am giving you the required notice, I do not wish to talk about it with your advisor , or be sold anything further  "

"If you would just like to take a seat - she won't be long " - the deaf , dumb and belligerent clerk said

At this point I handed her my letter of confirmation and walked away.

What's the feckin bet that because I wouldn't see The Advisor - it won't be cancelled next month  Banghead Banghead Banghead

If it is paid by direct debit, just cancel it.
