Title: Tiredness
Post by: Miss Demeanour on July 02, 2009, 12:31:21 PM
I am sooooooooooooo sleepy this afternoon. I could fall asleep standing up - which is obviously not an option. Nor is slinking off for a power nap anywhere.

i have tried the splashing cold water in yer face technique and this has not improved my alertness  cry:

Any suggestions ?

Paint some fake eyes on your eyelids and have a nap (courtesy of The Boy's new practical joke book  ::) )

I suppose Sven is hard at it

I am at work and face the prospect of yet more meetings this afternoon.....I nearly lost consciousness in one this morning  noooo:

That is the correct response in meetings. It proves you are normal. In your next meeting simply propose that everyone has a nap. They will welcome it. Minutes can be fabricated later

Perch on the air conditioner unit. The vibrations should hold your attention for some time ~ just as long as you are not a screamer.

You are waking with the day ~ it is nature's way. Irritating at times but I honestly find I can achieve more if I wake and get up at 5 than if I force myself to stay in bed. This morning I didn't wake but SWWLTBO did so got up and by the time I and the rest of the family surfaced had finished the ironing and was deep into her thesis. As she has no work today she will prolly follow my lead and take a nap this afternoon if she feels tired. We could learn much from those in hotter climes where an early start, a mid-day siesta and a late dinner are considered normal.
I have long felt we are too reliant upon the falseness of the clock whereas nature knows better.
