Title: Waiting for a delivery
Post by: Uncle Mort on July 04, 2009, 12:48:29 PM: I'm waiting for some furniture to be delivered. I should have received a call this morning confirming a 2 hour time slot. Nothing so I called the delivery hotline. It turns out the furniture is being delivered direct by the manufacturer so they couldn't tell me anything or contact the manufacturer's delivery people.

I have checked with the site and it says "order dispatched with XYZ couriers" (as usual) and XYZ couriers have said they have it and will deliver Monday. No money has gone from my PayPal account. My debit card is untouched as I have a new one not yet registered with any supplier and my on line bank statement shows no movement for the past week.

Inform ebay and reclaim your money .... they do have a robust complaints procedure, as I discovered when I made a similar complaint and they barred the seller for life.

I was worried that it would get caught up in the Post Brexit confusion as it came from Amazon UK... Lots of people are having to pay Duty and then 19% VAT on the entire cost (including shipping, UK VAT and Duty) on parcels that they ordered before Xmas...

IIRC orders placed before Dec 31st are OK for imports into the UK, can't speak for smugland of course

Think my days of ordering Canadian Whisky through France are gone. Hopefully duty free booze cruises will compensate when you know what is finally (what passes for) over

Sounds fairly straightforward I hear you say, except I haven't refused any parcel especially one that according to the tracking was supposed to have been delivered at 3.44 THIS MORNING evil:

Customer service for the courier company tells me to contact Amazon who just tell me that the refund will be in my account in a few days.
