Title: New Bike?
Post by: Barman on July 31, 2009, 07:42:29 PM
LL is on new medication and says I can have a new bike!

Usage is up to the mountains, twisties, want to embarrass 1l sports bikes but don't want to bent over all day... Odd commute to the town and cities but little traffic...

No off road required...  noooo:

Any suggestions as to new bike would be greatly appreciated...

PS need to keep up with next door neighbour who has Ducati  1098R  noooo:

I had a mate that ran a bike shop in Slough... the number of customers that took their brand new bike out of the showroom and slid it straight down the road 'cos the tyres were all covered in that shiny stuff was unbelievable...  noooo:

It is an awesome machine!  cloud9:

And buying a bike out here is nothing like being in the UK... it is a seriously complex project!

There are no Triumph dealers and Triumph can't be arsed to ship one directly...

The 696 is ?10,500

The Ducati dealer wouldn't touch my XTX and is in Nicosia

The nice Yamaha dealer in Pafos discounted the FZ6 and accepted the XTX in P/X so it was a no brainer...

It is an awesome machine - I just need to get rid of the bloody CAT but an eliminator is available for ?50 so that isn't a problem...

I suspect the Fazer is the same...

Quote from: Fazer Owner
1st gear took me to 60mph in about 3 seconds.

2nd gear took me to 95 mph in about 3 seconds more.

Unfortunately I ran out of open space to explore more, but 0-100mph in under 7 seconds and only needing 2 gears wasn't to bad.

Yes...

The manual says: -

Avoid prolonged operation above 7,000 RPM

It doesn't say you can't exceed 7,000 RPM cloud9:
