TBH, when I first encountered the part of town where I now live, over thirty years ago, it was a vibrant and somewhat eccentric place (in fact it has been like that for 100+ years) and I felt quite out of place.
As I went out this afternoon to do a few chores I had perhaps about ten conversations; only two from memory were with folk whose first language was English. The rest were a mix of Greek, Turkish, Chinese, Albanian, Yoruba (Nigeria), Caribbean dialect and Polish. I felt quite out of place again, somewhat eccentric... figure that one out  confused:

It is amazing how many places there are selling fresh food...

We don't have vacancies for stale food vendors in the UK ~ that place has long been filled by Sainsbury
