Title: What are the best ways of protesting
Post by: Miss Demeanour on November 19, 2009, 03:59:23 PM
Today has been 'one of those days ' so far...... noooo:

This has not been helped by the antics of a particular individual

Without wanting to go into the complexities of his case he has turned up to the offices today demanding that instant action is taken on his behalf to resolve his situation.

It has been explained to him by a member of my team exactly what his options are ...this does not please him as the one that says The Council will sort it all out for you is not in there  noooo:

I have been on the phone to him at least 5 times today reiterating the same thing  over and over again.

He has the means and the ability to resolve this but now, on a point of principle, he is staging a sit down protest in the foyer of the building and believes that BBC news are on their way to interview him over the injustice of it all - I apparently am going to be sacked  and the person causing his problems will end up in jail  eeek:

He has been given until 5 o clock to leave the building or he will be removed  scared2:

The man has already demonstrated that he has no grasp on reality ~ staging a one person sit-in protest in the Council Offices indeed.
He is clearly unhinged whacky115

Is this a matter of an unpaid bill or a service fault? Heating usually won't work when the power is off.

Basic problems are Freeholder / leaseholder dispute with access to fuse box recently restricted by freeholder  - but freeholder has now agreed he will allow access tomorrow ( as long as I am there ) and mad man can then get his electrician in ....this will sort out immediate problem ...long term problems are going to be much more complex

Every council I have ever had dealings with would have given him a Legal Aid leaflet and told him it wasn't their problem.

Indeed

But as I say it is much more complex than this and he has created an awful lot of fuss in some very high places and so we have to provide a response. Although to be honest this is more about mediation than anything else which we can do  noooo:

Thought so  lol:

Knows all his "rights" I have no doubt.

You could try asking him if he has a current visa and a work permit. whistle: In my experience they often don't and turn out to be "over stayers".

The Immigration Service lifted 17 of our staff one night shift. Ah the good old days  cloud9:

To deal with those who were big on their rights I used to send one of my supervisors. Big Lad, West Indian with an impenetrable accent. Worked like a charm and they didn't dare complain about him 'cos he was Bl**k.

I have just walked out of meeting and making my way back to the office
I gave him one warning about his language and aggression and then said he needed to listen.
When I began talking again he started swearing ...him and the other bloke.started cursing each other and just picked up my bag and said this was a waste of my time
He is now phoning leaving ranting messages that I won't have a job Monday

Thank heavens its Friday

Soon as anyone starts swearing and being abusive, THAT is the time to say tarar.
You'll never reason or have a meaningful useful conversation with someone as pig thick ignorant as that.
Some people are just so plain thick that they just can't see that though, bloody halfwit. noooo:
