Title: Quite suprised re ice/snow driving
Post by: GROWLER on January 09, 2010, 11:37:40 AM
Generally speaking, most driving standards have been fairly good during this new ice age.
A few chavs sliding around acting the tool, most wimmin dawdling along cus there's still a smidging of snow in the center of the road like, but generally, most sheepies have been driving quite responsibly, leaving bags of space for increased braking/stopping and driving at the right sort of speeds for the conditions.
There's hope yet. Well impressed tbh.  happy088

Young Growler jnr is currently out in my 'fast car' on an errand to get some gaffer tape to fix the sledges.

He's on 'total trust' not to bend it or else. Explode:

Went to Halfrauds and encountered a dick 'ed sliding around the car park in his chavved up old Nissan 200SX apparently, much to everyones eye rolling 'amusement'
Only thing missing sadly was him slamming it into the store and bursting into flames.

Well lets think ey?  ::)

It's cracked, NOT smashed.

It's NOT sticky tape either, it's gaffer/tank/elephant tape. Completely different.

I could plastic weld it, but really can't be arsed tbqath. noooo:

The top car park up 'me 'ill' was full of 4WD's only yesterday afternoon.
About 8 of us in total, ALL Jap stuff including a Pajero.
Not a LR in sight. noooo:

They were all down the botttom of the road with the bonnets up. lol:
My faith in LR was totally destroyed because of the problems I had with that Disco last year and before.
Soooooo comfy though, which was a bit of a plus whilst waiting for Green Flag. whistle:

The one I spotted looked very small and a bit "clunky". All square corners and bits to catch on gate posts and things. Bumpers looked a bit like angle iron with squared edges, if you know what I mean. It had an import number plate so I have no idea how old it was but the overall impression was of a small old fashioned imitation Suzuki. It was the number plate that caught my eye and then I thought WTF is that? The badge on the arse end said PAJERO and that is when I made the connection with your beloved vehicle. "Surely not noooo:" I thought ...... I have since Googled Pajero and see that they have improved the styling considerably.

Took some finding that picture I can tell you ...... And the clutch has been replaced. Car is now driving like a dream  cloud9:

There is an on-going debate with the Warranty Company about the definition of "Fair wear and tear" and "In service deterioration"
I maintain that "In service deterioration" starts the minute the vehicle drives off the production line and that it is an unreasonable clause to invoke, particularly as it does not appear in the terms and conditions of the warranty. Nor do I agree that "Fair wear and tear" should completely burn out a clutch in 44,000 miles. We are going to arbitration.

The Land Rover forums are absolutely bursting with tales of woe and horrendous expenses trying to keep them running.
The whole lot should have been re-called and scrapped.
Totally shameful, but as is usual with big manuafacturers, they just deny all responsibilty and laugh in your face. Finger:
